also i found a place that was a collage of the Kowloon Walled City that also literally went on forever in any direction, looping and winding infinitely into itself. it was pretty cool

okay so we went here and wandered around and after a while i lost @AutomaticTiger and was like “lol she was so worried about us getting lost but now she’s the one who wandered off!” and someone else looked straight at a wall and said “what do you mean you’re looking for Cania they’re right here!” and pointed to where I was definitely not standing
and I was like “wait are you talking to tigress??”
and they looked at where i was definitely not standing and said “yeah, she’s right here but she can’t see you”
so it turns out that everyone else could see both of us
but neither of us could see each other
also everyone saw me standing some place where i was not, and i wasn’t moving at all on their side even though i was wandering around on my side.
it was pretty cool
sad i missed this (was sick enough i did not want to risk hinky 3D) but love hearing about them and would love to come out to one again!
Finally dabbled in VRChat by myself for the first time. It’s got a powerfully seductive draw for some reason. Even in desktop mode, looking at yourself in a mirror is so key and very compelling. I want to ‘play’ more and collect more avatars. Was really cool hanging out in the Nier village.
Furality are holding a weekend-long mini event in February, tickets start at $10 and their last event was an incredible amount of fun.
If you’re of the furry persuasion or just want to hang out and dance with people in VRChat to live DJs this is a very good opportunity.

Wow I updated this thing more recently than I thought
Ok, so the big deal for me since the last time I posted this is I managed to go to Furality Sylva, a virtual furry convention that…actually felt like a convetion! Everything I like and feel weird at in a convention was present! And just like other conventions, I mostly stuck with friends while occasionally having pleasant conversations with strangers. And weird ones too! Like the hovering otter who kept…spitting on me when I went to a fox meetup (I have a couple fox avatars, don’t blow my cover).
The worlds they created for furality were gorgeous and the fact that one of the prettiest ones will never be used again is intense, although the main lobby will be brought back as a general world later this year, and you can still see the merch dealers (yes, virtual merch dealers) until like, sunday or monday. Hit me up if you want to check that out.
One interesting detail of it is that it has a specialized shader that plays nice with the world. Giving everything a Breath of the Wild vibe, and integrates more cleanly with the build in lighting systems. Somehow it centrally calculates stuff like that and reduces performence load. In return, you get some trippy effects including glowing patterns that light up based on routines programmed by the world, and even synching up with the music! (although you can kinda do that with other shaders, it’s really cool to see the pre-planned effects)
It was a great time! I highly recommend attending if you have any inclination!
