oh my god this game fulfills the promise of URU so much better than Cyan ever did Miller Bros eat your heart’s out. you can make your Relto fuckin Traverse Town if you want to. i realized, the moment i fell into the fissure, that the Keyblade would not be destroyed as i had planned
Another thing I’ll add: if you think perspective shifting is cool now, just imagine it in stereoscopic 3d. If you think shapeshifting is cool, imagine looking at each form in the mirror and seeing it reflect the movements of your body.
Imagine the body reflected back being your fursona.
There’s nothing else like it. There’s a reason I got obsessed.
Set up a new tigress in VRC lately that I’m pretty sure is going to be my new normal for quite a while.
I decided to plunge and get full body tracking. Seeing all my movements, not just my head and hands, is surreal and incredible.
The posing potential is huuuge with these things, besides the added “oh my god, I’m a blue tigress” vibes.
More screenshots from my recent “Try to get cool screenshots” initiative:
Featuring myself and my friends Feybeasts, Roxy, and Silver.
I recently started up VRChat and had a strong impulse to become a cute creature
I’ve been spending a lot of time with it the past couple weeks and flitting about different communities trying to get some social contact. Mostly in Japanese thanks to time zones.
Yeah, mostly furries. They’ve been very nice!
@AutomaticTiger was kind enough to meet up with me and show me around!
I’ve also tried to make it out to some English events held by one of the larger general groups I’ve found
It was a very different feel for sure.
I’m enjoying getting out and talking to new people virtually more than I expected. There’s also a big appeal in choosing exactly how you’ll present yourself to other people.
I’m also finding myself in the position of mingling with Japanese people and not standing out at all. After over 10 years of living here, it’s a different feeling for sure. People don’t event tend to catch on until I talk to them for a while, which is also a nice confidence boost!
Anyway, I’m enjoying this way too much. Hope to see folks around some time!
I think I mentioned last year that there’s a digital furry convention in VRchat called Furality? This year the theme was a failed colony on a desert planet. One of the really remarkable things about Furality is how you can kinda zoom in and see each individual inspiration but all of it blends together in totally unique ways. The obvious big influences were clearly Dune and Fallout but there’s a bunch of that sort of…vaguely nasa aesthetic that has popped up in a lot of stuff that wants to be ‘realistic’? But most of that was recombined and messed with to represent the ‘failed’ aspect of the space colony.
This year, they completely blew all previous years worlds out of the water and made some of the best VRC worlds I’ve ever seen:
It was a blast, and if you have VR you should should definitely consider going next year even if you aren’t a furry.
god furries are so fuckin awesome
I have the non VR version of this on steam deck so might do it at some point.
My friend Clover, in the waning days of cohost, started answering questions she’s getting on the site with videos. This was about a question about being unsure of how to break into VR chat meetups, especially if one is overwhelmed easily. I wanted to link it because A)It’s good advice, and B)I’m in the background and I love how it conveys the vibe of what meetup looks like even though it’s kinda blurry.
that rules lol god i love vrchat/furries/being a furry
“find a buddy” well obviously im gonna pester u whenever i wanna be social on VRC, Tigress ![]()
meant to ask when u shared yr friend Avi’s yinglet model: do yings in your experience try to do zhe accent
i definitely wanna run around in vrchat as a scav but i cant decide whether doing it or not doing it would make me feel more like a phony lol. probably it would be doing it but then messing it up… whole enclave cringes as i drop a big fat plosive TH’ into the chat
I’m fairly certain there’s no lower key group than the Yinglet ‘enclave’ that turns up to some of the meetups. Mostly they just talk therian feelings and My Little Pony. Many of them do stick pretty firmly to the Zat Zing style talking, and if you made an effort I’m sure they would be nothing but encouraging.
yesyes… zhis is good
in my restless dreams, i see zhat town
edit: credit!! i forgot this wasnt linked itt
there is a toggle to see your snoot & brow whiskers in first-person. it doesnt work great in non-VR but i definitely gasped and went “oh this is some next-level shit”
went exploring today checked out some places mentioned ITT~
the Pact is rly rad lol i love the music. spoopy!
(i love that u can toggle on a Doomguy like facecam)
took a pit stop in Traverse Town
and finally, went SHOPPING
there is a WHOLE SAILOR MOON THEMED ANIME SECTION!!!
this game (??) is dangerous for my love of posing goofy screencaps
still looking forward to meeting ppl when im not bumming public wifi but solo jaunting around has its own appeal! i neglected to get a picture but i found a “cozy lil tent in a rainy forest” world to set as my home before logging off :3
more adventures of ying-Kenzie in ~VIRTUAL REALITY~
as you can see, this world’s just Ridge Racer
like you start off in a blank space “outside the screen” and then you click to insert coin and
you’re in very passable VRChat port of Ridge Racer!!
had to adjust the seat for my tiny yinglet bod (LOOK @ zhat sitting pose aaaaaa!!! if i ever meet Avi “in person” im gonna shake her claw, she made such an amazingly cute avatar)
There’s no AI for the starting line cars but each one has a driver/passenger/sitting-on-trunk seat ![]()
my other favorite world i found during this sesh was this VERY cool voxel-drawn set of floating islands inspired by Tears of the Kingdom (complete w/ shooty-cannons & lovely piano music)
there are even korok puzzles and i think you have to find all 5 to reach this highest floating island w/ (probably) the Deku Tree. i only found 1. (Ive never related to Felix more)
the world also includes a Mario Bros. warp zone, a gravity-shifting cube-island that is very impressive even though it broke my avatar, and a “low-gravity field” mechanic that even has a bespoke playground area full of Sonic springs
and a fakeout “boss battle” where this talus approached me menacingly before melting into the floor & revealing a lovely voxel garden ![]()
capped off the session with hottubbing in a rooftop hangout ![]()
i would fully support a Virtual SBCon happening in these kindsa spaces lol
