Damn, should have hired that guy for my wedding
Sam Griffin is best classical guitar composer of gaming tunes on the YTube dot com? For my money: it’s a high probability. But I will admit I only know of maybe a dozen or so.
Andre Kane doesn’t have a lot of subscribers but wrote amazing ones about 7 years ago and some of the newer stuff on their channel like ‘Musical Playthroughs’ are brilliant ideas. Hope some y’all check 'em:
XCom 2’s Tactical Legacy Pack came with an alternate OST in the style of the original X-Com. Composed by the always-great Adam Schneider.
Loved it. Very synth-heavy.
(Great remix of the after-mission theme)
(Particularly good around 1:22 ^ ) (good variant remix)
My favorite is this one, which I’ve posted before.
One of my favorite Kirby tracks. It shows a lot of restraint for a very nice payoff near the end.
What I wouldn’t do for a remastered version of this entire OST…I love it…
Damn, that’s a really subtle remix of the original. The melody is the only real element carried over but it otherwise feels like its own thing.
Kirby Canvas Curse secretly has the best Kirby OST since it’s all these super weird remixes of older kirby tunes. It’s like an OCRemix album (that doesn’t suck)
I feel that way about Castlevania Adventure Rebirth, just amazing OST but it’s all remixes though of largely less obscure tracks. But I adore it so much.
Now knowing this I want to play Canvas Curse!
I love this song. I gotta get these individually rather than just from this one video, because I have no idea which song this is. Timestamped:
This is my ideal music of all time. Is this a game worth playing? I would legitimately play it just to experience this song in game context.
edit: oh it’s an RPG Maker I realize as I look it up with better internet searching skills. At least we got the OST on the youtube . com
REad a review for RPG Tsukuru 2 on GameFAQs, and of course they split it up into categories. Gameplay was like
"?/10
It depends entirely on who made the game! It could be great, or it could be absolute garbage, it just depends on the creativity of the maker"
And then I saw that same line basically repeated in a couple of other retro sites about the game and it’s like
why are you even rating this tool like a game, did you not realize how goofy that is
in the category of “Famitracker remixes that are arguably more beautiful than their source material”
Nobody told me that Star Fox Zero has a pretty good soundtrack.
Like this is a bop:
And this sounds like a JRPG final boss:
i don’t know why i regularly think about this theme. maybe it’s just because it’s so happy and cheery.
speaking of strong memories of happy sounding DOS music (cuz i only played that version of this game as a kid):
ugh all of the lemmings music is burned into me forever, i fucking love that shit
tim2 is an all-timer
oh dang the Lynx version is dirrrty, i love it
