Indeed, make sure to check the press release to see some excellent ZZT-related art from @HOBO!
So excited for this.
Getting some b-roll tomorrow, anyone got any recommendations for cool/weird Second Life areas or Myst Uru fan-created ages they’d like to see?
Fuck I need to plumb the depths of Uru, I only ever played the first couple Cyan developed areas
There are a mindblowing number of fan ages. They really range in skill and effort. There are a lot of very basic, unfinished ones. There are a few that are polished and visually inventive enough that they could almost be official ages. Some even have full sets of Myst-style puzzles to solve to make it through them.
The Uru community attracts a very specific type. There are a ton of ages built by teachers and scientists. One example I enjoyed:
The best way to check out Uru’s fan ages is to get on one of the fan servers. I recommend Deep Island.
this doesn’t quite fit here, but it’s close enough. this channel has vhs-converted videos featuring xband, the 16-bit online multiplayer platform for snes and genesis, from back when the service was still active:
Episode 1 of the series is finished! It’s about ZZT. Still editing the other 4.
To celebrate, please enjoy this special moment from the middle of the ep:

I never actually came back and updated the thread, but the whole series is complete! Here are screenshots of the final two episodes we edited, Second Life and Doom:
Currently we’re working out the release schedule / marketing plan for the series. I don’t know the release date yet, but it’ll probably be early next month! I can’t wait for y’all to see it.
Hugely excited by this
Cool.
