caught up with weird route recently. haven’t seen the normal one. missed a few secret bosses (lost the urge after fucking up chapter 3).
anyway, visiting comatose berdly in the hosital and smiling. not a single regret

the weird route has something that undertale’s genocide route didn’t
it makes all the things in between violence feel like acting, playing pretend. there’s this thing of feeling trapped, unhappy, angry, and the only outlet is doing dark shit when your friends and family arent looking. all the happy stuff feels slightly off, like things aren’t really right, even if the love and affection is real
and the shared secret and betrayal and the upcoming inevitable hurt is… appealing
i think deltarune has become more interesting than undertale for me

it’s interesting how this already seems to be an aspect of kris without the soul’s involvement. but in a different sense of “dark”.
the weird route has gotta be part of what toby saw in his fever dream, right? it’s too out there not to be a driving inspiration.

Chapter 6 is a shorter, straightforward chapter that focuses on one aspect of the story. Because of that, many things are still not touched on here – in fact, it may surprise you what was missing! But one thing will be clarified, whether you’re ready or not.
Some of you may say “Wait! You need to make the chapters longer, not shorter!” That’s an extremely reasonable concern, but… by the end of Chapter 7 I’m 100% sure you’ll understand why I feel confident about the way I’m telling this story. Don’t worry about the pacing until it’s over!

i think i should actually finish chapter 5 so i can make slightly more i formed guesses here
i’m assuming that the pink coins are needed for the secret boss in this chapter. am i on the right track?
