You’ll have to scroll past a million posts and videos speculating about the specs of the Switch 3.
I think about how you can share ps4 games with friends a lot. What a strange feature. One way to play videoball though.

Game for 2024 season is renamed and released as F2 2024, releases to critical acclaim and becomes the next big thing.
I tried looking but we do not have a 2024 specific thread yet? Somehow.
Anyways @OneSecondBefore mentioned “there are a lot of cool video games this year” and I just wanted a thread where they can be listed and considered as we are almost halfway through it. Because I feel there are a lot of cool games and I want to be able to find them. List them folks, the games of 2024!
This year there have been so many games I’m interested in releasing in such rapid succession that I’ve had no time to finish any of them! Too much of a good thing, you know? But so far, here are my top Games of 2024 in no particular order:
- Isles of Sea & Sky
- Nine Sols
- Anthology of the Killer
- Moonlight Pulse
- Balatro
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
- Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth
I’ve not played as much as I’d like but here’s the best so far
Tekken 8
Unicorn Overlord
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
1000XRESIST
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
Mods move this new thread to the old thread had to search for “twenty” not 2024.
I dunno, seems strange to have this obviously axe-like thread and then to go “ok but seriously” and start talking about video games for real!!
Oh well!!
Here are the 5 games I’ve played so far this year and their rankings from 0 's to 5:
- Alone in the Dark:
- Phantom Fury:
- INDIKA: (sorry guys but you absolutely cannot under any circumstances feature off-screen sexual violence if your game also has jokes in it)
- Surmount: A Mountain Climbing Adventure:
- Crow Country:
These are my top games released in 2024 so far. Not ranked, but my #1 is Extreme Evolution.
- Animal Well
- Anthology of the Killer
- Astro Bot
- Cape Hideous
- Devil Blade Reboot
- Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Extreme Evolution: Drive to Divinity
- Indika
- Isles of Sea and Sky
- Judero
- Mouthole
- Nine Sols
- Silent Hill 2
- SteamWorld Heist 2
- UFO 50
- Unicorn Overlord
- World of Goo 2
Edit: It’s been a few months, and several more great releases impel me to update my list. (New additions italicized.)
Of the few 2024 releases I’ve played Isles of Sea and Sky is the clear standout, although I’ll add shout outs to Moonlight Pulse and 20 Small Mazes for having some neatness to them. Window Ware doesn’t quite work but I love the concept so mention here as well.
How we feeling about 2024 Video Games Folks??? I am excited to get Nine Sols on Playstation like next week???
Sorry We’re Closed finally released so I will play a video game released this year!!
This was a strong year in terms of indie games I was interested in getting released, I’ve probably gotten to more of them near release than any other year in recent memory and I still have a few I had to put off.
I’d say it’s been a year dominated by long RPGs for me. Only gotten to 40 games which is lower than my usual. Has also been a lot of trying to get into fighting games again which ate up a lot of hours. I think I wanna get through a larger number of shorter indies now. These 70 hour games are too dang long most of the time.
