nobody is using the right guns, 0/4 stars
Damn I donât remember the guns, Spike was a Beretta man and Faye had some kind of Walther thing I think?
how do you forget spikeâs jericho 941, a classic. but I think he pulled a beretta out of the fridge when he wanted to double up. faye had a glock 30 and jet had the walther, a p99
hard to tell what spike has in that picture but it looks like it has a more flat top on the slide. looks sig-ish to me
Also true:
Christopher Yost wrote for this adaptation, and thatâs definitely not a pedigree I expect to deliver, let alone on something like Spikeâs existential derealisation.
watched the first season of this show See. takes place hundreds of years after a virus killed all but around 2 million people and left everyone surviving blind
jason momoa is BABA VOSS
dave bautista is his evil brother EDO VOSS in the 2nd season
and sylvia hoeks, the psychotic replicant gal from blade runner 2, is the Evil Queen who prays by masturbating so itâs my sisters favorite show in the world
Itâs interesting but like every tv show now it really drags ass to get anywhere. momoa is great though
i have never even heard of this, woah
what we do in the shadows still rules. the setup for this season is a lot of fun. kayvan novakâs impressions of the cast in the second episode are fantastic
i watched queenâs gambit and it looks like everyone who commented on it here was cold on it but i thought it was rather enjoyable personally. i do think it picks up a bit toward the end, the last 2 episodes are way better than the especially the first one
Got real high on delta 8 and marathoned all of I Think You Should Leave in one go. Really loved it.
one of the best parts about the queenâs gambit is how it uses tons of (very good) real historical games, but then actually inserts new variations (based on consulting help from garry kasparov apparently). it is definitely odd that you really wonât get this from just watching the show casually, though. the pacing is a bit shit, and if you arenât aware that the entire story is riffing and toying with bobby fischer (and other chess personalities at times, it should be noted, though fischer is clearly the main inspiration for harmon) mythology it will probably not acquit itself as well as it did for me. at the very least, there are some deep nuggets for chess nerds in there
iâm really not entirely sure what i think about it from a more artistic perspective but if nothing else i really enjoyed the âchess fanserviceâ lmao
as someone who enjoys chess, but isnât a chess nerd, per se, i thought Queenâs Gambit was a fun time. i think its biggest flaw is that itâs a Netflix show and all Netflix shows feel like WB shows with huge budgets, to me. and that isnât even a huge flaw lol, it just means itâs kind of corny sometimes.
but cool to hear about the details
Johnny Domino is a well-known San Franciscan jazz musician who is accidentally struck by a lightning bolt in a freak cable-car accident. The strike allows him to telepathically recognize evil but robs him of the ability to sleep. Although Night Man has no other superhuman powers of his own, he owns a special blue-caped bulletproof black bodysuit that gives him several abilities, including flight, holographic camouflage-style invisibility and advanced sight functions through the round red lens over the left eye of his mask including the ability to see in the dark and fire a laser beam. [âŚ] The series is loosely based on the character from The Night Man comic book published, through the Ultraverse imprint, by Malibu Comics, which was later purchased by Marvel Comics, and was created by Steve Englehart, who also wrote three episodes of the series. [âŚ] In the episode âManimalâ, Johnny allies with Professor Jonathan Chase, the star of the short-lived 1980s series Manimal.
remember Forever Knight, the vampire cop show
i just remember that his other vampire friend was a late-night dj. i think this show sucked
Yeah, I downloaded the series for Halloween Club as a potential TV show to show but I found the first episode boring so I threw it out of the running.
How did this guy go to court and testify
lots of cameos from harry anderson and john laroquette?
I definitely almost made that joke but decided to be weirdly earnest instead. They donât do murders in night court evnvnv
Dream big
I realized last night that some stealthy software update to my television automatically turned on all of those motion smoothing options that make everything look like shit, but this must have happened like a couple weeks ago?
We watched through all of The Chair without noticing it, I just thought it was a bold aesthetic choice to make the whole thing look like a daytime soap opera shot on a camcorder
anyway thatâs probably the most interesting thing I have to say about that show. It was good though, I guess.
