kind of expecting now that he’s gone that a lot of things that people were holding back about him are going to come to light over the next year or so.

I should have read this thread before I posted in the goings on thread about his death. I was pretty much in Toptube’s place there. I only knew some of his videogame videos and didn’t know about his Twitter or personal/social/political stuff.
I watched half of a quill18 video (some weeks ago) about him saying he loves TB without agreeing with him on so many things and I was half wondering what he meant but I turned the video off because he was drunk and it was kind of awkward. Now I get what he was implying there.
I’m wondering what else I don’t know about some of the people I sometimes watch on YouTube. It’s a bit heartbreaking to be honest. Gaming is a cesspool

had i been aware of his work/persona/statements and had i actively “hated” him, at least I would’ve had the tact to remain silent about it upon his death, not lower myself to infantile potshots.

If you spend years in a profession that allows you to cultivate a certain level of cultural influence, and you then exert that influence to harass and bully others within the community you’re influential in, being “tactful” means that I shouldn’t use the occasion of your passing to complain to your friends and family how shitty you were. To my knowledge, Parker has no specific plans to crash the funeral, so while you’re free to dislike the way he’s expressing his reaction to TotalBiscuit’s death, this is an entirely appropriate forum for that expression to occur within.

he apologized quite a few times and did try to restrain his fanbase, judging by the fact that the more fervent gamergators have long called him out for selling out to “sjw’s”.
unless you provide evidence of him leading an active terror and harassment campaign, not just criticism or association with gamergators at large (a term that is as ridiculously employed as SJW or Nazi at this point), i call bullshit. even if he hurt people with his words, it takes some twisted morality to glee at his death.
