i am fucking obsessed with panorama cotton

When I lived in Taipei there was a shop there that had a copy of Panorama Cotton on display. It basically cost one month’s rent. And this was back in 2006. I shudder to to think what it must cost today. For this reason, I have never really tried it. I should give it a go on mister sometime.

Excellent. I think I will!

Cotton is not up on PSN.

Natsuki Chronicles is. And G Darius HD. And whatever Another Chronicle Burst EX+ is.

What a day for shooters.

Remaster of an old GBA Macross STG is on the AU eshop. Was this game any good?

An interview with Granzella’s Kazuma Kujo on R-Type Final 2:

Amazon gives an April date for the North American version of R-Type Final, but I assume that’s inaccurate and just based on the Japanese release date. I might not be able to resist ordering a physical copy on top of the digital one I am getting through the Kickstarter.

Pretty sure April 30 is the NA release date.

Yeah so Natsuki Chronicles kinda sucks? Only played it once but first impressions are that it’s just kinda boring and uninspired. Didn’t give it much of a chance, though, so I’ll give it a second shot soon. But yeah, a bit disappointing. I think the fact that it was actually completed like five years ago but was only recently published on PS4 meant that my anticipation for it was somewhat overinflated. Also I still regard Judgement Silversword as one of the best STGs—if you own Eschatos, please go play it! It’s so good.

Progear, on the other hand, is a very nice surprise. Love the visual style, and the steampunk vibes are fun and not grating. The vertical scrolling level (level 3, I think?) is currently a bit of hurdle for me.

We also haven’t really talked much about GG Aleste 3? It’s really good. Wave 5 in particular I have a lot of fun with each run. Love how the wrap-around effect of scaling the tower is simulated through the gravitational pull that constantly brings you back to the centre of the screen. Only thing with GG Aleste 3 is that I’ve only completed it on a 1CC. The latter levels seem difficult to complete without maxed out shots etc, but maybe I’m just hopeless without all the advantages I can get, haha.

Also very excited about the G-Darius remaster, especially knowing M2 were involved. I’ll post my thoughts on it when it arrives in the mail.

Good time to be playing STGs!

GG Aleste 3 is so good. one of the best new games from last year, and it’s definitely gonna get lost due to region locking etc. all three of those GG games are a lot of fun, but the other 2 games in that pack do nothing for me.

I like ZeroRanger and I appreciate that something so recent can be so high on this list, but I’ll be damned if I’m not disappointed with how low another SB fav, Cho Ren Sha 68k, clings to the polls.

My only disappointment with the new Capcom comp’s Giga Wing was that as a straight arcade CPS2 port/mame rom? the Dreamcast’s slightly remixed/arranged ost wasn’t included. Also nice to finally play Progear after putting it off for so long

Oh hell yeah, I wanna get this! Thanks, Rude

Also, I’ve been stanning CRS68k forever and yeah, it should be way up on that list… Haven’t played Ketsui at all so I really want to see what the fuss is about. Don’t think it will crack my top three of (in no particular order) CRS68k, ZeroRanger and Mars Matrix… Could be a fun time though

i still feel ashamed i didn’t nominate it for the best games!!! thing

When that is all done, we should all get to pick one game of our own to add to a “shit we shoulda put on here” list or something.
