i keep thinking about this. idk what makes a shmup “great” really but i have not been disappointed with the shmups on neo geo personally
blazing star, pulstar, prehistoric isle 2, strikers 1945 plus are all really fun… even stuff like zed blade, alpha mission 2, andro dunos, and of course ghost pilots are enjoyable to me
