The Scorpio Revealed

I see emulator and VM used interchangeably in the writing about it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

e.g.

There is some amount of per-game tweaking. Reach was unplayable when first released but now the Xbone runs it better than a 360 in physics-heavy scenes.

yeah but just because it’s implementing the original OS hooks doesn’t mean they can straight up virtualize it on different architecture

Because of the way the Xbone’s OS is set up, any application or game is already running in a VM managed by the hypervisor, so combined with the fact that BC is far broader (seemingly, at any rate), odds are pretty good it’s just straight up emulating PPC code on x86. considering the way I’ve seen some 360 titles run, that’d be my gut feeling as well.

so, yeah, MS could probably port the whole thing over to 10 but fuck you Spencer wants your money

I guess I can hide my Xbone in a closet and stream anything that’s not on Win10 to Win10.

I have literally suggested someone else do this very thing in another thread here

the idea intrigued them

yes! that means this will have to come to PS4 relatively soon.

Can’t wait for ten years from now when this is the standard practice across the board and Nintendo is still the only holdout.

Would be nice if it were retroactive

This sounds dumb which means it’s probably true because Microsoft.

If it lets me run Unity I would probably get it.
