there was a tv channel in the uk in the 00s called g@me network, but no-one has any nostalgia for it because nobody watched it.
everytime you put it on, it just seemed to be live footage of some guy playing an incredibly ugly isometric mmorpg

I have fond memories of cinematech because I was on dial up for all oh highschool and youtube deep dives took ages. I loved cinematech as it showed me things mostly out of context but with a title and sometimes a publisher to give me something to go on. I remember it being the way I saw the FF7 ending because the disc my brother and i played on would always hang up on loading the last cutscene. Cinematch was one of the few things of worth G4 had that lasted about as long as my interest in the channel did.
Now that I think about it there was one show that I think had the first implementation of twitch chat but that was around the time I stopped paying attention. One friend of mine said he would mess with their dad who watched that show through the message marquee on the side.

I remember watching cinematech as I prepared to have my dad drive me to my girlfriend’s house while in high school
“it’s a cold world, but never so cold as when you can’t get a cup of… java noir” is what I remember as I got dressed in what I now realize were terribly unfashionable clothes

- the 80’s episode where adam sessler wore a really bad wig and they did an ironic review of bloody human freeway
-constant jokes about adam sessler murdering all of the previous hosts anytime reference was made to them
-as the sets got fancier the hosts got less interested
