Switch!

breath of fire is a slog but it has a lot of weird/memorable moments and mechanics.

bof2 is way better but also kind of prohibitively difficult

it’d be nice if the put it on switch but it needs a retranslation so badly

Pilotwings is about the feeling you get from its music and skies.

I've gotten so used to playing Mario World on the GBA. In that version, I can hold the run button and press R for a nice long, shallow spin jump. But this move is hard for me on Switch because run is Y and spin jump is A. I can't easily hold down Y and press A without pressing B (regular jump) first.

X is also run

Can’t tell if you’re aware of it or not but somebody actually made that

EDIT: Oh hey, the author once posted here for… 3 posts?

I think it was like someone once posted a link to their site and they noticed the incoming traffic? Was in the axe though so gone now.

So it is, thank you.

please let this be real

I would bet on it. That’s all I could think of while watching that, was Wii Fit and the weird board thing that came with. Which if I recall Wii Fit was like hugely popular. Would be great if they did another health and fitness software. I’d use it.

Just played some Super Metroid. It’s so good and it looks great on the Switch’s screen. I fell in love with it again playing up to the first save point in bed just now. I hope Nintendo puts GameBoy Advance games on the online service next. That would be really, really nice.

There was Fitness Boxing, which looked like the Switch’s version of Wii Fit. Rather than require a new peripheral, you just used the joycons to make boxing motions in various fitness routines.

nooooooo

i want a new balance board type thing

i want it to groan in pain every time i step on it

Maybe they’ll release a Labo Fitness pack, so you can build your own balance board out of cardboard. Exercise the mind as well as the body

yeah I’ve played the retranslation! it might have been me who linked it. I meant like an official one, but the fan translation is overall quite good.

He seems alright honestly and we should probably try to get him back.

I had a similar experience with a used copy of the GBA version.

Just before I went to bed last night, I wanted to “sample” Kirby’s Dream Course and ended up completely transfixed for like an hour.

Wuppo got released on Switch yesterday and I re-bought it
One of my favourite Itoi-em-all

A truly weird and cool game that feels designed by someone who doesn’t play games

This looks neat. They have a demo on Steam and it’s half off there.

NES Online got updated to include the sort-order and hide-controls features from SNES Online.

I’ve never played an Animal Crossing before but I’m interested in the new one. Is Animal Core cool? Should I play a previous Armored Crossing to get ready or is it not that kind of game?

I hope my globe trotting Tomadachi Life children are ok and aren’t trapped on a broken 3DS in Indiana somewhere.
