The driving at Normal speed doesn’t feel great but does feel a bit better at sonic and super sonic speeds. There isn’t a traditional single player mode of unlocks like racing transformed, you earn tickets to buy parts through race performance. You also unlock gadget modifications through completing races. I don’t know how long this will keep people playing as there are really just a few grand prix races and online multiplayer races. Music unlocks seem to happen through earning medals in time trials which may or may not be annoying based on how you feel about doing time trial laps for each and every course. There is a Race Park mode that seems to be a bit more like Team Sonic Racing but I haven’t gotten into it yet. I do wish there were more sega themed race tracks but we will see if ongoing DLC fills this gap.
I am having fun but it does seem a bit thin at times for a full prices game plus season pass in 2025.
