one of the first internet game livestreams i ever saw was the end of someone’s attempt to beat the nibbler high score record, and boy howdy that was a doozy. IIRC the difficulty caps relatively early on (in the grand scheme of things), so the extra life being granted every 4 stages ends up being incredibly generous, to the point that getting a high score is a matter of physical endurance more than anything else — like, “playing for 40-50 hours” levels of endurance and letting your little guy die hundreds of times so you can take breaks. the guy’s arms and wrists were in incredible pain by the end of it.
Oof! Yeah shoot I saw a high score video of some other game that was a real marathon like that, can’t remember what the heck game it was now–don’t think it quite got to the 40-50 hour range though, that’s gotta be approaching like just keel over dead territory, yow.
And actually I can’t even watch like 5 seconds of Nibbler at a high speed before getting dizzy so that is downright I don’t even know, wow = oo
id drive the shit out of that
The longest takes six minutes for the animation to occur.
mannnn that game has no right to have art that sick. one day i’ll come back and work out how to play it.
