Morrowind and Uru both have immaculate PC 3D atmosphere that I don’t get from modern 3D with real-time lighting etc.

I think of it as the last gasp of the late-90s, early-00s teal and purple, stone and daub, ‘tribal’ and ‘primitivist’ style, next to Shadow Tower: Abyss.

I have noticed the actual aesthetics of the 90s are almost entirely untapped, although sometimes the analogue horror types kinda poke at it a bit
