ok this just motivated me to look up the deal with protogens and primagens and like. what’s the sell on primagens exactly. they look more edgy i guess? do protogens not get to have genitals?

Originally there were only Primagens, protogens we’re supposed to be the not as good free alternative. Every Primagen had to be purchased from the original creator, so it’s supposed to be prestigious
Buuuuuuut…Protogens being an open species meant that they spread like wildfire and at this point I think are popular with folks who have never even heard of Primagens. Despite there being rules for what is a ‘canon’ protogen, it gets ignored all the time because nobody cares.

To my knowledge no, there was this one time a guy had a contract that if his character ‘permavored’ your character, that character could no longer be used because they were eaten permanently. And then he threatened to sue the person who ‘broke’ that ‘contract’ by still using the character who was ‘permavored’ after being ‘eaten’ in art.
But that’s the only thing I can think of remotely like that and I don’t even think that went to court.

its a similar thing to tf where people sometimes want to assert this is permanent and im like, sure yeah of course it is. and in the episode of Dexter’s Lab where he makes himself taller so he can ride the rollercoaster, he promptly slams headfirst into a tunnel ceiling and fucking dies and that certainly happens, but then hes fine at the start of the next episode. its a cartoon i get it death is meaningless
There was a furry (or at least furry adjacent) artist called Jennadelle on Deviantart back in the day who I feel like was hugely influential on a big number of her contemporaries, and has as far as I can tell completely disappeared. Thread has me half remembering a lot of her old art.
Her art looks fantastic, I’m surprised I’d never seen it before. I found a post where someone insists they didn’t chase her off the internet which is uh…well I gotta say that’s not the best look.

pre-transition i once dreamt the devil took me away and gave me a deal where every time i did something he asked for, i’d gradually get more feminized, but also gradually lose more of my humanity and human appearance. can probably read a couple things more into that than just wanting to transition
Also, Hi I just got back from an all-furry screening of the Emperor’s new groove in VRC where the crowd cheered for every Transformation art trope that happened on screen.
been an open secret that RCR is a furry (someone even told me his old handle) so it’s nice to see him be more open about it.
