This thread title is a weird coincidence because I am pretty sure I dreamt last night that I was a Parmanian agent sent on some mission to a Motavian city with a sexy partner to deal with some dark souls hollow type dudes that had taken up residence in the catacombs
I’ll read that fanfic
I paid the $2 for Phantasy Star II so I could access cloud saves. It doesn’t really work right and I’ve lost data multiple times by relying on it. I now only use the cloud saves during a dungeon run and I make sure I save when I get back to a town.
lol sega
this could not have been fucked up much worse
Yeah, I feel like I am personally responsible since I wished for portable Shining Force 2. Shouldn’t have used that monkey’s paw
i don’t know why this induces so much schadenfreude
I think the time is soon when we can no longer distinguish between robots and PR people. Or, the former will sound more human than the latter!
“ambitious”, “excited”, “community”, “amazing”
kek
Robots are already being used to write boring formulaic sports journalism no one wants to write like reports of high school baseball games, so clearly PR is only a step or two away
being unable to emulate games i ran on a 250MHz mac performa 20 years ago is utterly ridiculous and like… how did this even happen lol
how did this even come out lol
can’t wait for the saturn emulation lol
lol
Hey we had decent saturn emulation on gametap in 2004.
Also jesus christ we are at 20 years of Sega fucking up paid genesis/megadrive emulation (Sonic Jam).
How how can they still be fucking it up.
I think the history of Sega is a history of bad business decisions
For the record, those were ports! Which makes their problems different from all the bad emulation collections.
Does that also excuse Sega Classics Collection or GBA PhantasyStar Collection or pretty much every version of PS2 they have released?
Almost like they have been just working with a busted version
oh god remember
The Sega Mega Drive Collection on PS3, the Vintage Collection and the 3D classics all seemed close enough to perfect as far as I could tell, so there really is no excuse for bad emulation at this point
M2 handled Vintage and the 3D Classics, which I believe involve a lot more hardware-specific emulation work, the kind that is practically impossible with a project like Sega Forever. They seem to be the masters of this stuff, but I wonder how thin they are stretched between their 43 employees (and occasional independent contractor), and there isn’t a lot of industry demand for their level of dedication, which requires serious time, effort and experience.
The 3D classics games are actually just straight ports, completely reprogrammed
I never realized anything that seemed off about Sonic Jam but then again that’s the only way I’ve played through the original Sonic trilogy so I wouldn’t know? What was wrong with it?
