i like to listen to music that’s basically a couple of people on a stage playing their instruments while stoned and dreaming about the universe. really repetitious, yeah, but i like the subtle variations.
i’m also really into the subgenre of “space rock”, which originated everywhere but had a lot of roots in late 90s-early 00s session music in Dallas and Austin. so i’ll also include some of that here
listening to this stuff lets me drift away from my corporeal form and into my brain, where i don’t have to think about what it means to exist or any problems i have. it’s nice. also appeals to my systems-focused brain, where i can hyperfocus on differences between bars, the tension between ideal and execution
