RESIDENT EVIL.... (Part 1)

yeah I was just hoping the have a nice low hassle experience, and I feel like the experience otherwise scales up very well to HD. probably the best part of the remaster is that there are no pauses between camera angle changes.

I’d rather play on a CRT with a real gamecube if I was gonna go that route.

Is it me or is the Nemesis design a little different on the NA box art?

I think it’s just the angle. There was another box art that was almost identical to the second pic apart from having the title changed to “Biohazard 3”. In Japan they just get an additional alternate cover art as well for the version with all the blood and gore.

Dig the big chompers.

Hope they bring back the STI. I think it’s one of the only games to have a 2011 pistol. though MGS4 had that strayer voigt that did no damage and the rounds just ricocheted everywhere.

I never finished the B scenario of the 2 remake. I wanted an infinite ammo gun before I ever dealt with the coated bastard ever again and didn’t feel like making the effort to speed run the game. is there a ini file or registry entry I can just modify instead

that trailer is so weird bc there is both first and third person footage

is it going to switch periodically or something?

I also feel like the visual style is less “realistic” which isn’t exactly bad but just seems incongruous with how photorealistic 2’s visual style was.

first re2make trailer also started with an extended first-person -rat sequence

Scalding hot preview. Hope it has a VR mode but I kind of doubt it will. Looks great either way.

This is why I asked about the visual design of Nemesis earlier in the thread. I thought there might be a possibility that this one would be a little less photo realistic and gravitate towards a more manga feel.

Also, maybe it’ll be the Mirror’s Edge game we always wanted?

It’d be a real shame if there wasn’t a first person mode and ALSO a VR mode.

I wanna run down hallways of fire is what I’m saying

I wonder if there’s going to be designated sections - like in Aliens Isolation - where you’ll be sneaking around trying to avoid Nemesis

Am I crazy that it looks cheaper than 2? More amateurish? Maybe it’s just the dub not matching the lip movements but it all looks slightly off.

yeah no it looks that way to me too, but I think they are deliberately going for a different tone. in the developer message they are saying the game “leans more in an action direction” (which is disappointing to me but fitting with the original game’s vision I guess?) so I imagine the entire styling of the game is just kind of a different vibe from the RE2 remake.

it’s crazy if they can actually release this just a little over a year of the RE2 remake. I guess they were developing both concurrently.

In a franchise and graphics engine flex, they considered and probably saw how easy this would be to produce during RE2make. Just like the og 3 from 2, a great number of assets are already available.

It does immediately seem less polished. Nemesis wasn’t as iconic or impactful but deserves more than a 2nd rate. Probably gon b good

Oh hell yes, they spoke of Nemesis having many more ways to pursue/surprise you than Tyrant (as he should) so it’d be a shame if they didn’t try for some truly difficult hides with modern A.I.

Former PlatinumGames CEO Tatsuya Minami has founded a new company backed by Capcom, sources have told VGC.

The company, called M-Two Inc, is operating just outside of Capcom’s headquarters in Osaka and is contributing to the development of the publisher’s just-announced Resident Evil 3 remake.

VGC understands that M-Two has been in operation for over a year and is comprised of several former Platinum and Capcom employees. An M-Two Inc logo is visible at the end of the Resident Evil 3 trailer.

Minami has a long history with Capcom, having started out as a designer on Street Fighter II Turbo and Super Ghouls and Ghosts, before producing games in the Resident Evil, Mega Man and Devil May Cry series.

Minami left Capcom to form ODD Ltd in 2006, which was later merged with SEEDS Inc to form PlatinumGames. Minami was president of PlatinumGames until his resignation in 2016.
