Quick Questions XIV: A Question Reasked

Planescape Torment is half off on steam right now, should I get that version or get it somewhere else?

the remastered infinity engine games are actually decent, you can get that one in good faith as long as you promise not to give me an excuse to fight with the entire cast of nora about how it’s somewhat overrated

i played a ton of that just a few months ago, it’s a good version

wow

I’m shredded, devastated

I played through that version late last year and it ran well, I can’t compare to the original but it felt like what I’d want from a remaster. That said in previous Steam sales it has gotten a 75% discount so if you aren’t itching to play it immediately you could hold off and save yourself $5.

yes?

it’s referring to a deleted post zeno

oh ok! i genuinely wondered if, like, the remaster was actually considered a bad version, or something, is all

(why do i feel like you’re scolding me for not knowing there was a deleted post lol)

the post that alluded to there being a deleted post was also deleted so you probably couldn’t have known

sorry!

The people responsible have been sacked, as well as the people that sacked them

you’re fine! i would just like to know if i’m misunderstanding eskaibo. it seems to me that instead of ā€œthere was a deleted comment, zenoā€ one of you could have just taken responsibility for the confusion–instead of making me feel like i did something wrong. that’s weird. and i’ve been treated like that on these forums more than once, recently, so i’d like to see that stop.

unless there’s something else i’m still not seeing here.

yeah I think this is a classic case of the Internet not carrying non-verbal metadata, because I see how you could read it that way, but I don’t think there was any malicious intent because like I said, all of the context had already been removed by the point eska posted

(non-verbal may not be what I mean, but like the Internet doesn’t carry intonation well)

oh i’m even more sorry! i’d bet eskaibo didn’t mean anything like that

off i go showing myself to be as paranoid and insufferable as i fear people think i am, i guess. i just have this feeling that nobody likes me i can’t shake. sorry, this wasn’t at all worth such a scene

that’s how i feel every second of my life, so i can relate.

Eskaibo can see deleted posts because they’re a mod, and you can’t, so they may have just taken that for granted and their response was a bit odd because of that – they have more context than you do, and i doubt there was any intent.

What would be the best version of Super Mario 64 to play today? The DS version, or the original N64 version?

N64. All the new content in the DS version is bad, and the changes to existing levels are just done to account for the terrible control schemes they had to implement to work around releasing Mario 64 without the piece of hardware that was built for that game.

Original. The DS version messes up the balance, and doesn’t have any good way to control the analog movement which is…kind of the entire point of Mario 64. Luigi in the DS version has a much higher jump, and turn the game into kind of a joke.
