Quake 2 wasnât on Dreamcast either, was it?
Iâm assuming they mean Team Arena since 3 was an early DC title
itâs probably actually quake 2, either a test build or files from it, etc⌠something they were messing around with. they are looking at the contents of a dc devkit there
doing some research, i donât see any crossover or continuity from raster productions (porters of quake 3 to dreamcast, from bellevue, wa) and red lemon (previous owners of this devkit, from scotland) so they likely wouldnât have any quake 3 stuff on there
Whatâs strange is from what I know, Quake 3 was a total engine rewrite from Quake 2, and Q3 on DC came out at the end of 2000 so after the Simpsons prototype came and went. Q2 was ported to N64 and PS1 so maybe there were plans but they were scrapped due to Q3 already on the way.
twitch.tv/hiddenpalace is currently streaming a Sonic 1 beta rom with some wild shit
Very Quest 64 vibe going on here.
what a terrible layout!
good design is so consistently just planning for the right number of iteration cycles
this video has no sound, but the first time link swung the sword i heard it anyway
same.
OoT was gonna have Zelda IIâs Fairy spell:
(lots of other wild stuff in that thread)
vids:
Apparently there are still 145 maps in this development build that havenât been explored yet, since they exist in an older filetype or structure.
The beta content for OoT is so interesting and itâs been trickled out over like 20 years and keeps on giving.
Really reminds me of a Zelda 2 town turned 3d.
the buildings always looked like the referenced Zelda 2, and so many of the townspeople are based on Zelda 2 designs. I always noticed how definitively they turned away from âwizard sagesâ like this guy in favor of creepy potion makers and Story-Enshrined Sages
Because baseball is far too staid for it
Two tokens per inning!?
