Post Quest II: Sierra's Revenge

The best thing about softporn adventure is that leisure suit larry was a quasi remake of it that managed to be less misogynist and regressive

that’s how Jess got hooked on pc games

later she moved on to upstanding product like Quest for Glory

Okay time for QfG posting.

My favorite bit of QfG1 is robbing NPCs’ houses in town in the D&D Neutral Evil spirit. There are 2 doors leading at night into the houses of residents you can chat with during the day: a little old lady, and the town sheriff. It is only possible to enter these doors if you picked “Thief” class at the beginning of the game: the content is unavailable to Wizard and Fighter classes.

Inside the houses there is “sneaking around music” on a bass guitar sample and about 10 interactable objects, some of which give you loot, others tense moments that come to nothing, and others wake up the resident and get you killed

The grandma’s house

This cat is actually a magical cat that will turn into a panther and rip your throat open if you make too much noise or stay too long

Here is the sheriff and his yo-yo playing assistant during the day:

If you mess with the music box:

The biggest cash loot is this safe:

You can sell non-cash loot by going to the basement of the bar into the thieves’ guild, once you learn the password:

I like how in King’s Quest II, one of the ports had a huge ad for space quest that was taken out of the versions that are on GOG in favor of an ad for King’s Quest III (boo). i’ve got the impression from interviews I’ve read that Roberta was not well beloved by most of the Sierra workers, though they did respect her programming skills.
