it is dumb that you have to have the app active for it to do anything, but if you turn on battery saver thing it makes the screen go dark when your phone is upside-down - this is for walking around with it in your pocket

The game is pretty buggy at the moment. While on the bus, I tapped on a nearby gym and then on some icon, and then some epic battle music started playing as my avatar walked off into the distance with the camera fixed on the area next to the gym.
Oh. Well that sucks. It’s certainly not feature complete right now. Prrrretty sloppy!
i was at a bar the other night and pretty much everyone in the back (there were 50 people split between two tables, were playing this game, talking to each other, introducing themselves to strangers. it was actually kind of an incredible sight to behold, it’s pretty rare for me to see people co-oping videogames like this in real life, organically, at non-gaming themed events.
i’ve had more random stranger interactions about this game than pretty much anything in the last few months, whatever this is, it hit pretty damn hard.
I’d consider playing this because it seems like it only has the original 150 and I don’t actually know any of the later pokemon enough for it to be fun but it hasn’t come out in canada yet
All of that is nice but I feel like a total ejit playing this game in public, running around to catch pokemon in the real world

My egg hatched and birthed a Dratini! Also I caught another Eevee which gave me enough eevee candy to evolve my dude into Vaporeon. It was a good night.
Judging by the amount of people I saw playing it in the mall yesterday, you’d look out of place being the only person not walking around flicking at your screen and bumping into people
