But I really wanted to do what I proposed on the opening topic, and actually give a reply on my own from reading all this replies.

Committing necromancy to remind myself to come back to this thread. The one thing I’d say that isn’t useless is that John Harris’s @play column is the best writing on the subject ever and that he has an unusually good sense of game design at large, but particularly good with respect to roguelikes.
I just started playing Tangledeep and its good.
And, The Death of the Corpse Wizard is everything you need to know about good roguelikes in a small package.
