But I like the Starcraft board game and I got it and the expansion very cheap way back then.

Someone at BGG asked whether AI was used for the art in that Eternal Decks game. The creator came in and not only answered (no) but went on to give a nice, detailed explanation of how the art was developed.

Yep. I think Great Western Trail Argentina is the best of the lot. Just had a really fun two-player game of it with my partner. Love the way that the bandits and hazards have been collapsed into one thing, and that they become a fourth worker. And the timing aspect required for shipping cows on boats. AND the shorter train track that opens up shortcuts. It’s so full of opportunities to exploit, and I think encourages more generalized play instead of drilling down on a strategy reliant on just one kind of worker like GWT usually is. Great iterative sequel game, which I can’t say I know or have heard of too many in board games.

I’ve had this game on my shelf for a year now and haven’t found the group or time to learn and play it yet. But I wonder if buttcon could be a good time to play it. Any interest in trying out Power Struggle? It seems fun and has that quiet kind of critical praise that usually promises something good when it comes to an old game.

I’d try it!

Yay! I may bring it and try to find people to play while we’re there, the box isn’t that cumbersome to bring along.

I’ll share my collection here too. If anyone wants to play any of these, raise a hand. I may be able to bring one or two along with me : )

Even with just two players Magical Athlete is really fun. Excited to bring it to the meetup.

Inspired by @Infernarl, I immediately busted out Agricola when I got back from the meetup and we played a couple of games. Good to be reminded how good that game is.

It’s a hard game! When I saw Miguel double-fisting Lords of Vegas with us in the game room and Agricola on his phone, I knew he would be a formidable opponent.

My partner and I struggled last night for a tie at just 21 points. And we’ve played this game a bunch!

someone on BGG saw I had some games I wanted to trade and hit me up for an exchange for a copy of Wabash Cannonball/Chicago Express. less games I don’t want for one I do? he’ll yeah

little did I know that designer John Bohrer had signed a deal wih Rio Grande Games to make a third version (after Winsome + Queen Games) with the worst-looking board I have seen

"what am I looking at exactly?" puzzlement turned to horror

is the blue supposed to be the Appalachians?

I try to be a reasonable and adaptable person but in this case i had to check many hex-map creation programs before learning how to use 18xx Maker

worried the trees make it a bit too busy, but didn’t hear any complaints after glueing a print-out over the original

I won the B&O auction but did not rush Pittsburgh. or buy any of the good companies. the full 18xx ā€œyou messed up the first moveā€ experience but only 50 minutes long

I am of the same opinion.
