If you ever feel like old video games are too expensive in 2019, my mom just bought all this stuff at a garage sale for $20, it was marked $2 each.

For the record, my mom is reselling it all and not letting me have any. She just keeps saying “well, you can borrow them as long as you want, but…”

I can only imagine that like, some nerd died and their family didn’t know what to do with all his crap

I can imagine your mom: "mmhmmm, yes, these all look old. I’ll get these and…OOOH, SHREK!!!*

To be fair though, she grabbed so much quality stuff, she must have some true knowledge.

I finally got my hands on the stuff and OH MY GOD

I presume that the letter is meant to be dated “January 2, 1992”, correct?

Oh I didn’t notice that.

Sword of vermillion notes. I like seeing the date and the little map.

Uncharted waters faq.

There’s receipts stapled to all the instruction manuals. Late snes RPGs were indeed 80 dollars as the legends say

Wait, Dave Arneson, co-creator of D&D, wrote an uncharted waters guide?

Well he did review it

Dave Arneson in Computer Gaming World in 1992 criticized the first Uncharted Waters 'inaccurate history and geography, flawed and repetitive game play (“those who are looking for variety and surprises should weigh anchor and sail for another game”), and “one-dimensional” NPCs unlike those in other Koei games. He concluded, “when compared to what it could have been, it is more than mildly disappointing”.[17]

Oh yeah looking at the last page this is all reprinted from CGW

Arneson worked in video games for a lot of years, so this isn’t too wild to me. He programmed a lot of games on the Colecovision according Jennel Jaquays, who hired him.
