How do we feel about Matlock and Perry Mason
anyway i totally get it, iām like this when stories are about lies piling up on lies until it all comes crashing down. i canāt watch it, it makes me itchy
always curious what those specific kinda triggers are for people!!
They shot a lot of Poker Face around where I live and I didnāt know that before watching it so it was very very weird when I recognized, like, the go kart track
this is one I have had on my radar, good to hear
more people should watch inspector ike it really nails a lot of stuff about columbo and the general nbc movie mystery formula in a naked gun kind of way. i still wish it was as fussy about the real film look as a danger 5 or something but itās still fun for [fans of the genre]
This is the only episode of Columbo Iāve seen, after I guess determining people said it was the best one. And, you know, I liked Mr. Columbo, but tbh I donāt like the pre-solved murder thing. I know thatās the whole thing, I know, Iām just a poor little boy
i agree, itās good
im going to beat toupsā ass for this post
Iām the middle of s3e6 mind over mayhem, the one with Robby the robot. itās one of the sloppiest murders yet. this guyās supposed to be a genius?? the only thing he got right is his alibi!
I love hating on these fools
oh wow jessica walter is in this one??? i love a good ābefore they were starsā columbo moment
just realized this is actually the next one up in the queue for me too⦠may need to make time for this this weekend
oh man this is the one where they name the boy genius kid āstevie speilbergā in the last possible year that could maybe be considered a sort of an inside hollywood reference
this looks great !!!
this isnāt me trying to convince you to watch Columbo, I just wanted to talk about the episode.
personally I donāt think that oneās the best. itās good! and the performances are excellent. but the murder makes no sense. why would turning off an air conditioner cause a guy to suffocate? how did he not wake up at all? itās super confusing and made it hard for me to focus on anything else. thatās me though.
my personal favorite so far is s1e2, death lends a hand. Robert Culp is great, the murder is honestly chilling, the scene of him covering it up but we only see it reflected in his glasses is great, and itās one of my favorite gotcha moments. also love to see Columbo lying this early on, itās a good setup for his character going forward.
man columbo would be a real shitty dude in real life huh?
anyway there are some real stinker episodes but the great ones are really great.
the david rasche one is the other 90s columbo episode I really like after the faye dunaway one
well, that and the tuba episode
Columbo being why Spielberg got a lot of leeway into making movies, and also being some of his best directing work (Iām a Spielberg hater after watching saving private Ryan) is yet another bizarre thing about the show.
Spielberg has one good movie: Jurassic Park.
Tobe Hooper made the other good Spielberg movie.
donāt forget about his work on Night Gallery
Heroic anti-cops
Question for the chat other than mark ruffalo do you think any living actor could pull off Columbo today
