Finally, the future is here
Designer of Disgaea 1 leaves industry for 20 years then comes back with this
Best music ^ _^
Resident Evils 1, 2, and 3 plus Breath of Fire 4 are now on Steam for $5 a pop, and riddled with really bad DRM. When I got Dino Crisis a while back I had to spend 45 minutes trying to get it to run in Linux (lotta fucking around in Protontricks and Winetricks and doing some regedits) and it ran like shit the few times I got it to actually boot up and refunded it.
Anyway just a PSA to, uh, not buy them. Or just get them on GOG without DRM (GOG versions are also updated, which these arenât?).
Or just emulate them. Fuck it.
âWhile it loses points for not engaging in a strong emotional core like its predecessor, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie racks up some extra lives by stuffing Easter eggs into the runtime to the point of bursting,â we wrote in IGNâs Super Mario Galaxy Movie review, awarding the film a 6/10 score. âItâs fun seeing all that stuff on screen, but without some kind of relatable story thriving underneath those references, itâs not as effective as it could be.â
Damn, Mario 2 has even less of a story than Mario 1? Brutal
Is that the lowest score in IGN history hahaha x
Itâs higher than they gave Godhand
It turns out SoulGame Studio developer SĂ©verin Larose, one half of the indie duo that developed Minishootâ Adventure, is not a supervillain who chose confounding grammar as his instrument of destruction.
Heâs just French.
âTo try and ease your bafflement I can only add that my attempt was to contract both Minimalist AND Shooter to create a portmanteau word: so Minimalist became mini, and Shooter became shootâ. Like rolling could become rollinâ, shooter could become shootâ right? My mistake was to assume that one could simply add an apostrophe to any word they wanted to shorten, which is, I understand now, non-sensical,â Larose kindly wrote back to my email demanding he explain his crimes.
goofy ass language stuff like this makes me happier than anything. kind of want to adopt this as a rule
Iâve seen the title of that game dozens of times and never noticed the apostrophe
IâŠheâs not wrong? The problem isnât with using apostrophe to abbreviate, but that the word âshootâ is itself a word.
It should have been Miniâshooteâ.
colloquially, while âshootinââ would be correct, a contraction of âshooterâ would most likely have a sound that replaces the -er, mostly because âshooteââ is a pronunciation nightmare whereas âshootaâ retains the base sound while shortening it and also imitates how a lot of people are saying âshooterâ anyway
games should start using glitch/hyperpop naming conventions fuck it be the sss76d6a6a7s##$YY you wanna see in the world
âshootârâ would scan and sound âokâ
i thought it was a zelda pun like âminishâ + âOOTâ
