I continue to stand by my assessment that-thus far-this continues to look a whole lot like Anthem but if it wasn’t as half-baked.

Retro City Rampage had like one amazing part right at the very end in this Bomberman set piece (if I’m remembering it correctly) and some bullshit they wrapped up as jokes (iffy escort mission path finding that they apologize for stands out) peppered throughout the rest. I had been following that project for years so it hurt when it was kind of a letdown.
I didn’t check out Shakedown Hawaii, but it’s better?
its SO SO SO SO much better, thats why i always scream about it when it comes up
It is better, yeah. If Retro City Rampage was an NES homage Shakedown Hawaii is an SNES homage, for all that implies. Structurally it’s similar but everything is just better: the controls, the story, the graphics, the stuff you do. It’s got lots of little challenge missions you can do that score you and put it up on a leaderboard for all your friends to see.
It’s the game you wanted Retro City Rampage to be.
Echo Point Nova seems cool for someone with extreme reflexes.
The coop seems awesome…
meant to post about this but i forgot: a new shooter by the developer of ultra fight da kyanta 2 came out last week and it’s pretty cool
post-rock soundtrack, lo-fi ps1 silent hill horror, and anime characters. just needs breakbeats and all the current retro nostalgia trends will have coalesced at once
Replace the dumb Anime Eyes with Nodding Scar Tissue Faces and you’ve really got something here
Sick as hell looking furry twinstick

I’m sick of everything related to Palworld. Pocketpair is obviously trying to play a victim here but they have to admit they flew too close to the sun.
I mean Palworld is a crass, cheap, ill intentioned, and mediocre little cash in. But I still think it sucks that Nintendo can somehow patent game mechanics as broad as riding on monsters. That’s an awful legal precedent to set.
Yeah the situation with game design patents is pretty fucked. The patents themselves are insanely vague and selectively enforced as in the Palworld case. There are many games that could also arguably infringe on the patents around pulling a mount out of an inventory or using a round device to capture a creature but few threaten Nintendo’s market enough.
