I’m looking at the little bonus dodge ball code of the dragon’s game

guys it’s probably just Unity

just pointing out that barely 7 months ago, Arcsys put out a Unity game with dodge ball gameplay and the fine, normal people here have rightly not heard of it because none of you proudly display your favorite horse daughter on your work desk

The flicker is the game’s indicator of the currently selected target.

What game is this?

the kunio kun collection lets u choose if u want alternate versions of the nes games with improved frame rates/flicker…,.i prefer the slow version of super dodge ball tho. The drama simply escalates like crazy

Yeah, Technos Japan was always pretty bad with technical details; the games of theirs that worked best actually LEANED on the slowdown to unique a real feeling of struggle and suspense–like the original arcade Double Dragon. They were never able to re-create that feeling in any of their attempted sequels.

Arcsys is explicitly identified as the dev in promo material and in-game

edit: they also didn’t use a very new version of Unity because the PC version was a DX9 game in 2024

This game looks pretty nice

this might be the greatest thing to ever grace steam
i wonder if there are gonna be any changes like bugfixes (god i hope not), steam achievements, multiplayer, etc. or if it’s gonna be completely unchanged

yeah

it’s also 40 bucks for 4 minigames and only holds value because it has 6-7 (3 of which are DLC) fully voiced stories, which you have to be horse-brained to get any value from

good localization work though

(Aston Machan likes to photobomb and is popular on Umastagram. there are no typos in the previous sentence.)

Ah thanks, that one doesn’t even show up in a Steam search for Arc-developed games–I guess because publisher Cygames is also on as co-dev and that breaks Steam’s search accuracy? ā€˜p’ oh no it does show up, but the search results aren’t sorted chronologically by default sheesh.

Licensed game pricing ^ D^

at current exchange rates, it’s cheaper to go to amazon.jp and import a physical, full-priced copy of the game for PS4 or Switch and have it delivered than it is to buy the digital deluxe on Steam

I hope this is coming out without a patch that fixes any of the broken game logic

As far as I can tell the Japanese Equivalent of Blockbuster (Tsutaya) now has zero physical rental stores and any remaining physical locations have been turned into co-op work cubicles you rent by the hour.

They also have an online store you have to make an account to even browse but the only thing it sells is exclusive gravure photo books.

The one across the street from Mark Is Minatomirai seemed mostly the same as usual on the outside when I kept walking by it last month. They are definitely diversifying their business though, a portion of the store was now a Pilates studio, so maybe the coworking space is one of many possible side businesses they’re running

this seems too stupid to ever try to explain to anyone in real life, so if you just stay off twitter and don’t play ubisoft games it’s like it never happened

that’s stupid because Shadows is rated CERO Z over there

you have to be actual over 18 to buy the video game

I guess adults are suddenly no longer responsible for their actions
