Actually I have a Breakout clone on my phone and I get mad trying to play it because my fingers obscure the playing field, anyone ever use their DS stylus on a phone? I have the spare that came with my DS Phat sitting around in a drawer somewhere

Playing tempest on a vector CRT with the knob was a mind expanding experience the first time I played it. Finally made me get it.

Modern game controllers should have knobs!

I’d be on board with the analog sticks doubling as a knob instead of being clickable as extra buttons. Or do one and one

The new Sonic The Mario Kart game is a sham if they don’t put Opa-Opa in it.

My niece recently told us about the stories she’s writing about time travelling sisters, and one of the time periods they go to was “the beatles / spice girls etc”.
Everything before 2000 is like an amorphous blob to kids now, she probably thinks i grew up during WWII

Seems like Breakout could work with the PS4/5 touchpad.

I always forget they exist when I’m not actually holding those controllers

The only maybe quarter-way decent use I’ve found for those PS4/5 touchpads is as one single big menu button. I’d love to see them abolished but it seems like Sony thinks they’re stuck with them now.

These are all really good points actually. For a while now I’ve been getting sort of pissed off at clicking on a YouTube video about some video game esoterica and it being narrated by a kid? I guess I felt there was no sense of authenticity when they’re just repeating information about something they weren’t even alive to experience first-hand. But now I realise it all boils down to this: who gives a shit.

Well I wouldn’t go this far. Part of what supports daphny’s position is that historicity doesn’t need to be reflected in art because the facts are available elsewhere if desired or needed. That doesn’t really hold if people are poisoning the well in the nonfiction space with bullshit

As our society continues to crumble by the day, at least the odds are good that the power will stay on long enough for all of us to reunite with our favorite real boy the Puppet Mechanoid in his new adventure through the past and future of Krat this summer.
