it really should replace the 3DS too as a platform but the problem is that the tegra can do up to laptop levels of power consumption and heat dissipation which is uhhhhhh a form factor issue in a handheld

So help me god if they don’t take the obvious track of having a low-power portable mode and a console-comparable higher powered mode while docked

I mean, there’s no way they can’t do this, right

Not even Nintendo could goof up that hard, right

Whatever, just name your price you bastards

edit: also, congratulations, all it took was 20 years and a catastrophic sales failure to finally get a mainline Pokemon game on a home console, which also doubles as a portable

The idea of Nintendo making a hybrid is the ultimate “Have your cake and eat it too” shit w/r/t their markets

another dumb edit: look, if this gets me portable Splatoon, yes, go ahead, destroy your core business, I’ll profit

I’ll just keep editing until I get locked out: The current NX lineup: Zelda, DQ11, Sonic 2k17, and the system seller, Just Dance 2016

Mouse Souls is now available in early access. It’s still real pretty and scary!

The NX has a Tegra X1? they better downclock that when mobile or you’re not going to get much battery life out of it…

The stuff I’ve been reading says the devkit has an actively cooled X1, which points to one of two things:

  1. The X1 is a placeholder for the X2

  2. The X1 that will ship will be underclocked

I look forward to continue not giving a shit about how games on Nintendo systems look and enjoying low-battery life on recent Nintendo products (man, the 3DS’s sleep mode battery life is very :frowning: )

oh my god this is gorgeous

the X1 is maxwell, the NX will almost certainly be pascal, which means 28nm -> 16nm, which means way fewer thermal issues potentially, or alternately being able to hit xbone metrics

OMG the mouse in the knight’s armor

this is the only thing that matters, now

I have a slight FROTH DOWN at how utterly unthreatening the rat guard seems in this clip

But yes it’s gorgeous

I’m surprised it took this long to make a Redwall game but I’m glad they finally did.

Shiren 5+ Vita is out. If you are one of the five people left with a Vita, play this game. It’s godlike.

Also from my time spend on the DS game I absorbed the wiki into my being so I can spoil anything if people have questions

What are the party members like

How does non-rescue multiplayer work

I actually don’t know anything about the multiplayer parts, so that I can’t answer.

I meant, like, what do they add to the game dungeon-crawling-wise

Also Shiren GB already had a cat helper. Although maybe only in the Windows remake.

On your first run through story mode of 5, there is a mandatory NPC you have to bring along. If he dies, you can’t make progress. Unlike classic SFC Shiren they don’t wander off from you freely, at least, so you can use their reliability to fight stuff together. That their AI is completely reliable is both good and bad, and keeping them alive can be hard-to-impossible if you’re in a bad situation, so have to be careful about it.

As far as the game is concerned, they are mostly related to unlocking postgame content. (eg, you have to clear the main story part with certain characters to access certain bonus dungeons.) Some of the postgame dungeons let you bring them in, but most don’t. The real Shiren starts here, etc.

The actual characters come down to melee attacker, a guy who throws money to attack, a panda girl with a boomerang that hits an area for not much damage, the cat above who can harm nighttime enemies, a status-inflicting kitsune, and another kitsune who can morph into equipment for you.
