one time me and a bunch of friends went on mini vacation thing

one of my friends was bringing a roommate of her’s who was basically in love with her but also kind of alpha male in all the wrong ways

because he heard that my friend liked playing halo, he brought a 360 and a copy of halo reach to the house, and when we all got there he started bragging about how great he was at halo and how he considered himself a “semi-professional” player and stuff to impress my friend

we hooked up the 360 and popped in halo reach and I wanted to join in because it had been a while since I’d played halo multiplayer and the first time playing halo reach multiplayer AT ALL. so we set up a 4 player free for all on some map with the score limit at 25 kills

I won and the next highest score was this dude at 9 kills and he was complaining really hard about how he was used to halo 4 instead of reach and I was like bro this was my first time ever playing reach multiplayer

that is my halo story also I like halo a lot

original sin 2 is coming out (in early access) way earlier than I expected: http://store.steampowered.com/app/435150/

worth getting in on this one early because of how funny the bugs are going to be and how phenomenal the first one was

Divinity OS is still on my list of games I’d like to play, but haven’t. I really like the idea of a full co-op RPG like that but I don’t have anyone to go through it with.

Co-opting with yourself is the best part of the game. There’s an argument resolution mini game for when you disagree with yourself, it’s the best thing.

yeah, I’ve never actually played it co-op with another person (it’s like civ in that the pacing just seems completely opposed to what I want out of a multiplayer game), but when you’re playing it single player you still have two main characters (each of whom gets a hired ally for a full party of four) and you have to disagree with each other at major plot points. it’s fantastic.

(I’ll say it again, best SRPG combat since matsuno in his prime)

The price of PS+ is going up 10 bucks in the U.S. and Canada. Probably time for me to plow through all my “free” games and then cancel my membership

That said, Halo 1’s Chill Out map has always felt pretty quake-like to me with it’s maze-y corridors and reliance on teleports for map flow.

but the good halo 1 maps are the open ones

These five folks are gonna make a Skyward Sword.

Dig that title theme!

Also, a world map!

That’s a lot of world with plenty of ocean still to spare.

The first Oceanhorn is really bland and unimaginative, don’t get too excited.

I mean, I really like the wide open maps in terms of the sense of possibility they evoked (back in the days when console shooter = corridor shooter, blood gulch was a revelation) but in terms of a game with a crazy-accurate long range gun you spawn with, yikes. things get lopsided pretty quickly

also in a competitive sense the halo 1 spawn system behaves much differently with different sized maps so that throws people off

you can hear some quality bitching here

EDIT: but how can I forget, CTF on the larger maps is godlike. so that’s definitely true

hang 'em high was the best halo map

I think that is going to sell well.

For a moment I thought it was a mocap controller, at least that pic made it worth it
