Nobody asked for Better Call Saul John Wick, but Odenkirk made this movie really enjoyable!
I watched Thief
Thief is good
i looked up the other movies you mentioned in this thread and… i would like to posit that you’ve made some pretty unfortunate movie-watching related choices to bring up in this thread. i think i’d feel the same way if i was watching stuff like Mank and The Artist all the time.
i’m just such a middlebrow person when it comes to movies and i want good middlebrow movies but dang they just seem to be few and far between
the last movie i remember enjoying was The Da Vinci Code, which I was howling with laughter at for like 2 hours. Now That’s What I Call Cinema
i should watch some actual old movies or something, i enjoyed dawn of the dead quite a bit when i watched it a few months ago
this is going to sound like a joke but like… definitely watch Citizen Kane if you haven’t. it is genuinely an entertaining, engaging movie. its subsequent reputation has kind of distracted from that. i love The Third Man for similar reasons as well. just fun, good, well-made movies.
do they explain like… where the cigarettes come from? I feel like it either has to be the subject of an unnecessarily voluminous exposition dump, or just never brought up at all
never brought up once, but dennis hopper does ride around in the lower decks of the ship with his monster car and throw packs of cigarettes at people as he drives by, which is delightful
honestly a pretty good leader in the trying times of WaterWorld, where nothing is free
dennis hopper became the pirate king of waterworld when he happened to discover a special strain of kelp that was rich with nicotine
a good balm for Waterworld induced wounds is listening to the Waterworld video game adaptation soundtrack track, “Map,” for as long as possible
Note: Do not actually play the Waterworld video game, it will only make things worse
impossible not to love movies again after watching Heroic Trio and Election
As inexplicable to me as the worst of any 90’s nostaliga. They were the K-Mart of video stores, a capitalistic villain that sucked all the life out of indie places. They were just… what there was.
Cania watch Brendan Fraiser’s The Mummy.
Cania watch DeNiro’s The Intern.
Cania watch Matt Damon’s The Adjustment Bureau or the one scene from Damon’s Hereafter.
I chose these films of different decades specifically for their middlebrow-ness.
Or join us in the warmovis mines.
God I am at a half-point in my Japanese that I just want to watch 60s yakuza films with subs but also I shouldn’t be lazy and there are like 200 yak films at my local tsutaya and I should support JAPANESE BLOCKBUSTER. But watching those without subs means I will get bored and probably fall asleep.
Also I am sure the transfers are awful.
Watched this recently actually and enjoyed it thoroughly but never posted about it
I’d recommend Blade, Blade, Blade, and maybe Blade 2 but really just stick to Blade
probably the most boring PKD adaptation
I would rate it even lower than the nic cage direct to video ones.
It has a romance that I mostly believe. I have pleasant memories of it and no need to see it ever again. Middlebrow.
Wishing a happy 20th anniversary to Freddy Got Fingered
A real movie hater’s movie
