as usual benicio is right it’s so funny how often he is the best part of a terrible dad movie. it probably seems somehow that i should really like sicario but mr sheridan is my great enemy after special ops lioness

i have never seen sicario but read the screenplay before it went into production and it had lines like “your daughter will burp the semen of a hundred men”

I think season 2 of lioness is either an op to make women seem too incompetent to do war or israelis are advisers on the show, also taylor sheridan just seems to have gone more insane since kevin costner broke up with him

Today I watched The Tragedy of Man, an animated movie based on a Hungarian play. It’s almost three hours long and took 23 years to make. The story jumps to different historical periods, each with a different animation style.
Now I guess I need to see this one as well.

This sure ended up being surprising and interesting. I hadn’t seen a trailer or anything else by the director and I never would have guessed what it was going to be like.
I can’t tell how long that single-take sequence actually was given the time-lapse part, but it was impressive.

I think the movie can get away with the ‘magic of filmmaking’ as subject matter by making all of the dreams bleak, like it is asking you to see the beauty in all this misery. It too is impermanent, it too is part of the texture of human life

MI: Dead Reconing (Part Uno):
never thought I’d say this, but ended up enjoying this (2nd time watching) again, and not because of the action — yes there are many car-/bike related stunts (that look awesome, you really have to search for the CG here), but what i actually wanted more of is talking heads, more dialogue between the factions here — and we’re talking about 2h40+ runtime no less!
007 Goldeneye:
ugh, Brosnan. At least the movie adaption of the N64 soundtrack was a nice touch (waitaminute, the N64 game didn’t come first? 
)
007 Tomorrow Never Dies:
some many ingredients wasted here, the idea alone should have been an omnious warning about things to come (Mr X nee Twitter), but alas… however, re wasted — above all, Michelle Yeoh’s talent, charme, lifetime and Screen presence is wasted here… yes, that 007 line surely makes a good point on your CV, but she could have been in a good movie instead. Ah well ~~~
