The changes to the gunlance meta both excite and intimidate me
Are all the bugs gone from the PC version yet, I’ve been holding off
Like the CPU usage issue? Apparently that’s been fixed for most people but there are a few still reporting it, so ymmv I guess
THEN make it even sexier by using three parts Zorah armour, two parts Nerg for more Bloodborne Rally Thrills
I haven’t noticed anything untoward, and the recently-added ‘skip’ gear (Defender’s weapons and armor, just straight-up MMO level boosters) has made redoing the mainline I already did on PS4 much more pleasant.
Been deep into the Steam version lately. I’m into all the HR stuff—rank 14 or so I think.
Hit me up if anyone’s still going monster huntin’
ugh i was gonna get back in on console last month, but then the alatreon update got pushed back and i put it on the backburner
who wants to take up MHGU
you don’t know how much i have thought of doing this, dammit.
Every time I boot up Monster Hunter World I find the thing I wanted to do, look at what weapon I’d want to build to fight it, look at who I need to fight to build that, look at what I’d want to build to fight those monsters, and then just phase into a zone to do some fishing and take a picture of some feylines.
Full disclosure the reason I came back is because they announced the costume that will be available for this year’s halloween event:
last update is oct 1… are any ps4 heads lining up for this? i’d love to do all the post-iceborne update stuff but i can’t rev up my usual crew rn…
trying to get to postgame. hopefully i can get ther ebefore that sick as fuck armor goes away
PC is finally getting the Street Fighter crossover stuff as part of that October 1st update
i played like, 15 hours of world shortly after it came out on pc and didn’t really know what to make of it but have been considering having another go
is there still much of a playerbase for the vanilla stuff in the year of our lord 2020? is it worth playing solo?
is it worth playing solo?
I would say yes if only for the following reasons:
-
You gain a better understanding of the monster match ups along with the armors/skills that are best suited for each scenario
-
Your skills and weapon proficiency will make you point at any monster and say ‘5/10 minutes’ as opposed to the online gangpiling that can obscure how useful you and your fellow monster hunters are
-
As a PSP veteran you will never have to endure this:
For the rest of the month expect lots of very high rank players responding to your SOS flares, because there’s a cosmetic event item you get specifically for helping low rank players. It’s a toss up if they come in with BIS gear, with middle of the road gear to try out a new weapon, or with what seems to be good gear, but a playstyle that makes you ask “Are you sure you’ve been playing this long?”
World has a lot of mechanics added for Soloing, like your feyline partner, and the local feyline tailriders that you build up rep with. That said, while you can complete the game solo, expect to hit a wall with any content after story missions. You can dip in an out of MP but I would not suggest playing strictly solo.
Incidentally if anyone on PS4 with Iceborne gear wants to get together to complete the hard versions of the FF14 and Witcher events I’d love to set up a group for it. These events were ridiculously hard at level, and because they don’t scale below 4 people I’ve never seen people respond to SOS.
whoa are there master ranks of those now?
i’d love to do all the post-iceborne stuff ps4!
quick second opinion, @idiot definitely play the whole game solo if you feel like, postgame and everything included (with a few exceptions, behemoth included), in many ways it’s more rewarding solo than multiplayer imo, both are great, i’d even say try not to sos flare at all really unless you’re grinding something and want to goof around
Oh no, both of those are still HR, but the only thing I heard about the Event Leshern at the time was that it was a thresher of souls, even for vets. Hopefully with Iceborne gear it’s a little gentler, and I always want all the layered armor I can get my hands on.
Iceborne and FF14 are both in agreement that the true endgame is glamour.
It’s always kind of a bummer when no one responds to my flares but some of those solo battles are my favorite memories.
It’s easy to miss the solo expedition mode quests that net you new gear for your cats plus the ability to summon small monster companions so be sure to look into those.
IDK what you know about MH in general or MHW in specific, but
- It’s pretty OK solo
- Expansion players can join your quests and can even do their fancy expansion stuff in your quests
- There are built-in rewards for experts to join new players so it’s fairly common
