i think all the super large sculpture ones have the 18+. it basically just means “this is big and complicated, a kid might lose interest, misplace parts, or get frustrated with the directions, be ready to help em build this one”
i can’t imagine actually buying one of these for a kid tho. they can’t play with it after because it’s a statue that will fall apart and they can’t incorporate the parts into other lego they have for custom builds/imagination play because the parts are so bespoke. at least when i was growing up half the fun of lego was like, “ok i have a space base, a spaceship a guy can sit in, a little cowboy saloon & some horses, how do i combine these” and i don’t see that kind of play with this stuff
One of my nephews was really into giant complicated static Lego sculptures from a very young age. He wanted to make them perfect and then never touch them again. I guess what I’m really getting at is that my nephew is probably diagnosable.
The local Meijer still has a whole shelf of pokemon megablocks or some other knock off line. They seem pretty close to what Lego is doing with these, aside from the mini architecture one. I expected more of a swerve.
Yeah, I built the Mega Blocks Charizard a little while ago and he’s super cute, but he was also super cheap, so. The official Lego Eevee looks a lot like the Mega Blocks one, which is kinda funny.
I have to kill a lot of time between my shifts today so I went and bought a 3 in 1 set, but I’m not using any of the instructions. I gave the robot guy a vape
