The easter eggs hidden in this set are pretty fun for the long-time Lego fan
My mom recently got all the stuff that belongs to me out of her basement and drove it down to my house. Most of it is toys. After sifting out the things that are priceless to me or worthless to everyone, I’ve been going through and selling off most my action figures etc. on Ebay. What I haven’t touched yet is my Legos. I have a ton of Legos. Most of the major sets produced in the Castle (esp. Forestmen), Space (esp. Ice Planet 2002), and Aquazone lines from like the late 80s to about 1996, plus a few others.
I have a really strong emotional attachment to the Legos, moreso than my Ghostbusters and TMNT figures, and I’m really unsure what to do with them. Some are worth quite a lot, but I’d need to sift through everything and piece them together to make sure everything’s there (I have the manuals for almost everything and a handful of boxes too).
But also I’m not sure if I want to sell them. I’m also not sure what good they’re going to do anyone gathering dust in my garage after spending 23 years gathering dust in my mom’s basement (they’re not actually gathering dust, they’re all packaged to prevent that lol).
When I think about selling them and seeking out the pieces, I realize I might as well have some fun (if I’d still find it fun?) rebuilding the sets. And if I’m going to do that, maybe I should keep some for display? But I’m not really a “Lego guy” anymore and don’t have a ton of space to go around displaying sets and am not sure I want to anyway.
Anyway, those are my mixed Lego thoughts and feelings.
Maybe build one and display it someplace and see if anything stirs inside you?
I give all my LEGOs to my dad, a certified LEGO guy.

Have to decide which one it’ll be now. I’m thinking it’ll be one of the Castle location sets (I loved my Space sets but I don’t find the prospect of building and displaying one of those as appealing). My candidates:
i knew a kid who had the biggest ice planet spaceship set, and after he built it, no-one could go near it because it was so fragile/precarious that bits would fall off if anyone touched it
Some of those space ships were absolutely the worst for actually playing with
