I feel like if you can afford a 3D printer, you can afford a HOTAS?

true, I bought both this summer and feel silly about it, but part of the value proposition of the former is saving you money

I think I can recoup the entire cost of my 3D printer if I sell my HOTAS right now

Kinda hard to run a maker space during covid but they’re dope as hell

this was actually the initial value proposition for them, I feel like it’s only in the past couple years that most of the 3D printer purchases I hear about haven’t been for maker spaces

Do maker spaces exist anywhere anymore? They all suddenly died here a few years ago for completely unrelated reasons (funding ran out, absorbed by community college, founder was selling lasers to fund the basement sex dungeon). I kinda thought the rise of cheap, good-enough 3D printers was an extinction event.

There’s still one where I live. Stuff like a CNC or laser cutter are still well outside amateur budgets and 3D printers at home still usually have 200mm x 200mm build space.

yeah, a few here too

Gorgeous, what even is that thing?

it’s a Lily58 (same model as Doolittle is using upthread) with Kailh Box Pinks and DSA keycaps.

We spend so much time with them. It’s not a bad vice to give in to.
