I got one of the 8bitdo Famicom-style keyboards, a couple weeks ago. I really like it. In the meantime, they have just released a C64-styled variant that comes with big ole double-shot SA profile keycaps, and it also includes a new joystick add-on to go with the big shortcut buttons that also came with the previous versions.
Also, theyâre going to release an IBM-themed variant in July, along with additional plug-in add-ons: standalone single buttons for $10, a four-key pad $15, and the joystick for $15. (Iâm a little unclear on if the joystick is just an analog-stick or is microswitched?).
Also, excitingly, theyâve got a standalone numpad coming in July as well.
Although I like the color scheme and the Japanese labels I am tempted to swap out my Fami board for the C64.
I wish I could get past their name. I hate the name â8bitDoâ.
Keyboard looks sick as hell though.
Is it 8 bit Doo or 8 bit Doh, because if itâs the former I hate it
lol, itâs both
more specifically, it was âdohâ until nintendo sued them(?) or whatever legal scare they had. now itâs officially Ate Bit Doo
8 bit tho
cameron diaz should make a console you play with your pussy called 8bitgoo
The controller is a car windshield
I have an update:
Itâs microswitched, with a Neogeo CD style mech. Itâs also very lightweight, base lifts up if youâre not careful. Also, base is magnetic and will stick to the sides of the buttons.
This test update brought to you by the Retroarch web player and an M3 Max Macbook Pro so locked down I canât even change the desktop wallpaper.
in addition to truck sim kit theyâre releasing a bunch more for-pc models this year
- symmetrical and asymmetrical horipad, octa, rap, fighting mini
- steam controller removes audio, adds cap sense, gyro, deck-matching buttons
whatâs the ps5 controller on pc experience like? Just Works?
last time i tried it windows saw the haptic drivers as an audio device but it worked as well as a DS4 through steam input
PS5 controller on Steam has been good for me. I get the Xbox glyphs sometimes but Iâm able to map the gyro to right stick, which is nice.
trigger effects are wired-only where supported which is annoying but otherwise works as expected/per ds4
plug in your Dualsense once so you can tell Windows to never switch over to its speaker and mic as sound devices and you will have completed all the prep you need for using it
I havenât tried a Steam game since but yesterday a Steam update notice said
- PlayStation Controller support
- We worked with Sony to improve support for PS controllers including DualSense Edge, and can now automatically support future 3rd party licensed PlayStation gamepads
Anyway up to now itâs already been pretty good with the DualSense. For crustier emulators that donât support it natively (MAME, Mednafen) I just run DS4Windows and then theyâre fine with it. If a Steam game hasnât had built-in support somehow, activating Steam Input has got it working.
Mayhem indeed.
