this year’s 8bitdo new year’s edition looks dope, might have to pick this one up

speaking of 8bitdo, it looks like there’s a wired version of the m30 for Xbox now.

A bit pricey for me at $35, but I’ll totally buy it on discount to play on my computer. I loved the 2.4 GHz wireless version on Genesis.

damn, i might actually want that for fighting games since they killed off compatability with the brooks adapters. oh and they added second shoulder buttons which helps a lot

I think they’ve issued some firmware updates for the older adapters that should work so long as they weren’t flagged by the console.

i see posts from people that received these but they seem to have cancelled the vast majority of orders and have wiped the existence of this product from their website, lol

Damn, that Xbox 6 button pad would be perfect for me, but I already bought the Bluetooth and 2.4 ghz versions.

Anyone ever mod a Nintendo Switch Pro controller? My new dog chewed the rubber caps off the sticks so I need to replace either the caps or the sticks. Since I’m gonna be fiddling anyway, maybe I can do something about that whack d-pad too.

replacing stick caps is easy, they just come off with a little pull. almost all commercial controllers use the same alps potentiometers with interoperable parts so you can eg put xbox stick caps on a dualshock 4. some controller shells might interfere but you can do a quick google search of reddit to see if someone’s done the combo before. if you want switch oem style those are easy to find too

for the dpad mod i put electrical tape in my switch pro controller six years ago and it’s fine but i wonder if there isn’t something better now

this is that mod

I know when I modded my RG35XX, there were sellers on Etsy that sold little stickers to slap on the D-Pad (with nice little guides on the sticker itself for alignment). Might be something like that out there, cottage industry fix for the D-Pad (and may as well do that while you’re changing the sticks, anyhow).

Got an M30 coming tomorrow since my 2.4 GHz one just flat out will not work with the adapter that came with. Can’t wait to hook that sucker up to the ol’ Mister.

dual shoulders really does make the wired m30 a near perfect option for so many situations, hm :money_with_wings::money_with_wings::money_with_wings:

the retro-bit pad doesn’t have analogue triggers so it doesn’t even do it’s job with the packed in saturn adapter for nights, racing games, etc. :skull:

this neato open source plug n play diy for the original 3d pad seems sweet, though it’s (understandably) been gone within moments of restock both time prebuilts have come available

why does the PS5 Wingman FGC cost That Much, dear lord

the only thing missing is a right stick option on the d pad switch

a mate is after a wired keyboard, has to be uk iso and the market here sucks anyway if you can’t be arsed importing something and getting hit with customs as it enters fishy rishi’s britain, so it seems we’re limited to like filco and keychron

filco seems to be exactly the same as it was in 2009, abs keycaps, a pingy case and costar stabilisers for £100+ so… how’s the reliability of keychron stuff? heard some horror stories but that seems to mostly be around the bluetooth

i’ve been very happy with a keychron keyboard for the last year or two. bluetooth has never been an issue across multiple devices.

keychron stuff is very good for the most part — it started out cheap and has gotten less so as their reputation improved, but I can recommend it without any real caveats (they’re tall on average so you need a wrist rest if you’ve never used a mechanical keyboard before but that’s about it)
