SMK is a pretty brutal game. rainbow road snes is still one of the hardest tracks in the entire series imo
drifting is very very difficult to master
there are crazy bits that no one talks about like. did you know mini-turbos already (secretly) existed in SMK? they aren’t an MK64 innovation
If you master the drift, the maximum speed will be further increased with the “mini-turbo”!
In this game, if you keep drifting for 1-2
seconds and then recover the grip, then the
cart will speed up for a moment (2-3km/h)
and a “mini-turbo” will be applied. This is the
reason why the engine rpm momentarily rises
when exiting a corner during drift driving.
I can hear
the MINI’s rotating sound,
and suddenly the engine
turbo has succeeded!

ALSO SMK has one of the absolute greatest videogame soundtracks of all time. Soyo Oka didn’t do too many games, but everything she did is all-timer material. compositions like Rainbow Road and Koopa Beach are utterly incredible, legitimate context-free GREAT MUSICS up against ANYTHING. completely discarding provenance

We’re playing Super Nintendo. Everyone can tell me who they like to play as and I can arrange the brackets around that. If it’s unavoidable we do a coin flip to see who gets their fav.

Yes everyone takes turns doing a run and we see who scores the best! Similar to how we did Sega Bass Fishing. Probably the n64 DDG cuz there’s an English patch. I’d do Final on PC but the last time I tried that it was giving me issues.
