i would hope if this fails bungie finally closes for good. it would be funny for them to finally face consquences for half-assing everythiing going back to like, halo 2 times. i was annoyed that the way journalists covered the plagiarism thing seemed to bury the fact that even if they didn’t just directly copy this persons art they still based the games entire aesthetic on it which is still pathetic
also bungie owes me 120 dollars for deleting all the destiny 2 content i paid for which led to a scenario where when they moved it to steam i started up the game and could not actually experience a single second of gameplay, just ads for like another hundred dollars worth of stuff i had to buy. so fuck them for that too. lol

Right I just mean like, nothing about any gameplay footage so far has suggested there are any aliens, which sure throw it on the “why are we calling this Marathon” pile but I don’t know who could possibly be expecting it at this point

The bastard aleph one devs and their non-canon marathon 1 hud options… I know they retrofitted the m2 xbla hud but there’s a reason the security officer has that big dumb fishbowl helmet. Durandal had to fix the shit ass UI work some UESC guy cut corners on while you were snoozing.

god it is a real shame that literally no fps series has demonstrated such a powerful weapons glow up between sequels like marathon 1 and 2 with the explanation of lol i was fucking around and made your guns less shit. i wont explain how though because your a dumb bitch and only care about it feeling good when you pull the trigger
meanwhile poor master chief fights his whole damn way back to earth at the beginning of halo 2 and they reward him with a worse suit and worse firearms than he had the month before. romance is dead in the halo universe.

Tbh even with the controversy aside I can’t imagine many larger studios have morale that is overwhelmingly positive unless you’re fresh off a hit. Even if your game is doing well, the few successful service titles seem to have to really love the hustle of constantly pleasing their customer with the same product for years.
Like the quote above could be just as true for people’s feeling about industry, let alone Bungie.

currently replaying the same section of levels 3 and 4 because there’s no auto save between levels and 4 immediately starts with getting swarmed from all sides with nowhere to run.

god i don’t know what it is but FPS of this era give me such a headache / claustrophobic feeling. both doom and marathon make me feel this way
narrow corridors, incredibly dark lighting, lo-res textures, dark storylines, spooky monsters
