I took an edible and watched episode 1 of charmed last night. The giallo-ass opening surprised me! I don’t know if it was a coincidence, but it even starts really similarly to Suspiria, with a young woman arriving at a red building full of stained glass windows in a rainstorm.
That’s about where the similarities end, unfortunately, but I still enjoyed this episode a lot. Suburban 90’s witch fantasy stuff is very fun, and the three leads of this show really sell it. I was surprised how much soap opera style melodrama there was in this, but it was working for me!
My partner and I were absolutely mind boggled by the dudes in this show. Pretty much every single man looked exactly the same, like they were all related or something. Completely the same face and build. It made things kind of hard to follow sometimes! I wonder whether the casting director had a type.
