watched rogue one last night, and found it as frustrating as I did when it came out. I think it’s really hard to tell a story about an ostensibly apolitical person’s radicalization in a universe with such black and white morality. also saw is cool but his character feels like such a huge missed opportunity.
Bullshit!
please god

Episode 5 of the mandalorian was garbo
6 was good though
Yeah 6 was probably my favorite! It seemed the most like the type of plot you could imagine would show up on the version of this show that is like a late nineties syndicated TV show with 30 episodes a season or whatever.
5 was one of the weakest but I was still amused by the bit with the sand people. Really the only good part of returning to Tatooine.
Oh yeah, I figured the Dark Empire lift was totally transparent. Is it not a thing modern SW fans are up on?
PS what’s with all the internet discourse about angry shippers or whatever? If the last post didn’t make it obvious, I’m very old and don’t know what’s going on.
Are we calling racists shippers now?
folks are conflating shippers and racists and acting like they’re the same group of people even though the racists would never be caught dead shipping anyone
There are specifically shippers who endorse the Rey/Kylo ship and therefore oppose the Rey/Finn ship and it is impossible not to suspect that one reason might be racism
really, if there’s one thing that the sequel trilogy did well was allow for every possible romantic pairing to seem conceivable by keeping the characters as thinly drawn and noncommittal as possible.
I thought the internet was into cuckoldry though
the movie had this whole bit where Finn was trying to tell REY!! something obviously significant, and never got round to it? it just got dropped? but then got confirmed after the movie on twitter that it was that “he’s force-sensitive” which 1. who cares 2. what the fuck you can’t do that! that’s not how films work!!! you dont just visibly punt a bit of the story out of the movie and explain it afterward
but i guess this also had palpatine officially revealed on fortnite so
Lando’s recruiting message to the civilians of the galaxy is part of the theme park
Dark times
Re: Mandalorian
Disney owns Firefly
Yeah, that’s what confused me even more.
I legit threw my hands up in confusion in the theater when that kiss happened. Was there even any narrative backing to that?
And Rose having to stay home and do homework or whatever?
What was up with that movie?
Reylo was a thing from TFA and indulged implicitly in TLJ (my partner whispered “just like my fic!” to me in the theater during the forcetime scene) but it’s character assassination for Rey to consummate it on screen like this. The point of the Reylo plot in TLJ is that she doesn’t condemn him nor does she take his hand.
Ok, I felt like I totally missed something major, but it seems like I didn’t.
Last Jedi was so good! I’m glad it gave the whole series the best coda it could possible get.
