I mean, there are still some other treasures on there, but this one seems very cool, yeah.
You should at least watch a video of the PC-88 Ys 3, if not just pick that one up. All the dialogue is in Japanese, but there is so little of it that I just used the camera on my phone to autotranslate it.
I didn’t mean that as a knock against EGG CONSOLE. They’re really cool releases. I just think this one achieves more than most games ever do. I keep downloading them, hoping “could this be another Relics?”
There is a Famicom Disk System “port” of this game and it is hot garbage.
Oh no! The EGG CONSOLE release is a port of the PC 88 version. I looked up Ray Nakazato, the screenwriter, to see what else he had done (Relics has a screenplay). Looks like he eventually turned into a producer who helped localize EA console games to Japan, so every Japanese person has him to thank for the privilege of playing Crüe Ball.
I recommend checking out just how garbage Relics for FDS is because it’s “how did this get published” levels of bad.
