Also Digimon Tamers (still counts as in the last 20 years for two more months)
I like Japanese cartoons where people have trouble with vending machines. If there isnât a TV Trope for this there should be
If this isekai light novel doesnât get an anime adaptation itâs a crime

Apparently by the later volumes the protagonist levels up to a full-blown convenience store
that is super not what I meant but I confess I am also aware of the vending machine isekai
admittedly im only interested because he turns into a convenience store
thereâs an episode of a live action horror anthology series about people getting murdered by a vending machine in the woods. itâs either 100 tales of horror or prayer beads.
Yeah I think I understood what you meant but the vending machine isekai was just funnier to think about
Itâs enough of a trope in romantic comedies that Nichijou has a parody of it where there is no vending machine trouble at all and the dude is not the least bit helpful

ran across a really clean HD upload of all (?) the Crusher Joe animated material on Youtube.
Its basically anime starwars but a lot more fun than starwars.
trying to judge from a distance if itâs worth trying Sabikui Bisco based on Big Mushroom alone, guessing⌠no
Iâm 4 eps in and I am on board for Sabikui Bisco. It has the feel and pacing of some of shows I loved (trigun and others like it) from the 90s to mid aughts. The LN nerds I follow on twitter say that its one of the rare LNs thatâs dense enough to be a real novel. Other things it has is weird animals like hippos with mounted canons, a crab buddy and flying puffer fish with teeth.
The Komi Canât Communicate dub is a lot of fun. The untranslated written parts are read aloud which is a fair compromise if Netflixâs player canât show more complex captions
They cast Skyler Davenport and use âtheyâ for Najimi so it also shores up the character I felt torn about
German uses xie/xir and Spanish uses amigue. Delighted by localizers flaunting language despite reactionary weebs
It canât be helped
Weâve been watching Ranking of Kings after a lot of strong recommendations and itâs wildly good. You think itâs just going to be about a little guy having adventures and it turns out to also be the best anime fantasy epic since like FMA: Brotherhood. Could also be summarized as âwhat if Steven Universe was Dragon Questââcomplex characters with conflicted loyalties and the heavy intersection of the problems of children and adults in a world where the big fantasy epic sort of already happened but now the consequences are coming back around on everyone.
They made an anime of River of Teeth?
I got the US blu rays for Urusei Yatsura movies 1 and 3 in the mail today. The case for the first one got completely mangled in the post which is pretty frustrating.
Anyway, the reason I bought them was I watched my crusty old DVD of Only You a few weeks ago and noticed for the first time it was cropped to 4:3, and so figured it was time for an upgrade to a higher quality wide-screen version.
Watching it again today and noticed a few things like Elleâs head being completely cut off as sheâs walking down the hall with her servants dressing her etc, and sure enough comparing it to the DVD, itâs actually cropped from the 4:3 version instead of the other way around.
At first I thought this was some dodgy way for them to ensure they could use the uncut home video version, but apparently animating in TV ratio by default and then enlarging it to wide-screen was actually standard practice for anime back then.
Seems a bit weird, makes me think the 4:3 format in bluray would have been the definitive version. Iâve never seen the 3rd film but I assume itâs the same deal there. Oh well, guess I learnt something today
