i got brown noted by the destiny loading screen when i had e coli

as long as you have ~2 people doing callouts and coordination, you don’t really need team chat for everyone for normal leviathan

You can kill the hud in this?

i think its in the options, i used to play hide and seek in the tower with the HUD off

So on PS4 You need Plus to do any of the PVP or Strikes. I am working my way through Osiris and Warmind because I never did.

I want to do the Rat King missions that sounds fun and cute.

I’ll install it on my PS4 this weekend

I’ve had like 3 people tell me to try Destiny 2 now that it’s F2P like I didn’t spend an entire year playing it and I can’t tell if I’m just jaded or if the bottom hasn’t fallen out for everybody else yet

Wait, is Destiny 2 F2P or like… do I still need to buy expansions?

Expansions from “Year 2” on are still paid. Starting this “season” there’s an optional season pass a la Dota.

Everything from “Year 1” is free: vanilla, Osiris, Warmind.

Strikes, gambit, and crucible are also all free, though strikes only through the matchmaking “playlist” beyond Year 1.

Locations are no longer gated behind DLC so you can go to the moon even if you don’t have the new expansion.

I have played 52 hours of the F2P bundle now, there’s content enough for most

Forsaken is a good deal for $25, dunno if I can recommend Shadowkeep for $35.

I’m destinyin’!!

I’ve been playing this a lot while simultaneously sinking into a depression so make of that what you will.

I’m eschatonaut on PSN and Xbox, btw. @Rudie we’ll need one other person with Rat King or the quest for Rat King. We can also do some of the secret exotic missions.

I am medium-good on PC but fully expect to suck on a controller. Maybe this injection I did will help my hand swelling lol

Honk now you just have to deal with the fact I am 15 hours removed and play only on weekdays late night Texas Time.

Hmm how late are we talking?

so you dont need plus to play with other people? just for PVP and strikes?

If you’ve just started in F2P, here’s some advice:

  1. Work on Black Armory and Menagerie questlines, particularly completing each weapon frame at least once, completing the Jotunn exotic quest, and fully upgrading the Chalice of Opulence. They allow you to pick which weapons/armors you want to grind for, which drastically reduces how much you need to grind, and Black Armory in particular has some of the best weapons in the game (Pulse Rifle - Blast Furnace, Handcannon - Kindled Orchid, Machinegun - Hammerhead)
  2. Learn when to jump, slide, or push up. Biggest mistake I see people making is getting into bad situations with no recourse. Sliding in particular can be used to throw off PvE enemy aim, especially snipers.
  3. Mobility is the most important stat for Crucible. Hands down.
  4. Always bank your motes in Gambit/Prime if it would open an invasion portal. Sending an invader is far more important than sending a blocker.
  5. Focus on one grind until you get bored, then switch. Destiny has lots of activities to choose from, so it’s easy to get decision paralysis.
  6. Try to do at least 3 freelance survival games a week so you get the bonus glory points on reset. Since it’s solo-only queue, you won’t get pubstomped by a team of 3 (instead you’ll get pubstomped by all randos!)
  7. Mods are no longer consumable and upgrading an armor to 5 energy only takes Glimmer/Shards. Don’t neglect armor perks, especially super-generating perks (Light Reactor/Pump Action/Remote Connection, usable on class items) and ammo scavenger perks (found on boots)

I’m glad that gear mods aren’t consumables but I’m a bit irritated that shaders are

I agree.

Thankfully you can now pull shaders for Shards/Glimmer/Materials instead of Dust, so it’s trivial to get more of a shader you like.

Definitely wish they’d changed it to free application using mod system though.
