i got brown noted by the destiny loading screen when i had e coli

Got it, thanks!

Twenty years ago videogame voice actors had no clue what a videogame even is and now they’re casually playing the games they’re in. Lance Reddick is way cool, I love that guy

750 is gonna be the new zero

surprising amount of melee combos in this video. titan doing a spinning kick? wut?

I’m a day into returning to Destiny and I’m already sick of it? I’m asking, because I’m not sure.

There’s so much stuff now and it’s hard to keep track of it. Like, I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to take out pen and paper and write a todo list. The fun will then be in checking off points and not in playing, I’m pretty sure.

Also, I’m not sure I want any of the stuff that could drop. What am I going to use it for, the Crucible? I want a multiplayer FPS experience in my life right now but as I just found out D2 still isn’t it. I hate running into supers constantly and I hate hand canons. Shooting them as much as being on the receiving end, it’s really no difference to me.

I don’t know if I’ll be back for Shadowkeep after all… I do know that I have to make my own multiplayer FPS though because no one else is going to make the thing I want to play. I’m too old fashioned and minimalist at heart to enjoy anything that’s out

this has kinda been me with destiny for a while with increasingly diminishing returns.

For me, I basically had to disconnect all worry over ā€œprogressionā€ to enjoy Destiny.

The more I worried about getting good loot, the more miserable I became. It’s the Diablo problem; you can only go so long getting the same shit you don’t care about before you get mad, unless you stop caring about the loot entirely.

Now I just shoot stuff because it’s fun and audit my inventory whenever it gets full. When my clan is up for it, we do clan stuff, but if not I just play something else or do random bounties/triumphs. Paradoxically, this has both drastically improved my time in Destiny, my mood, and resulted in my vault filling up with good drops for all the different guns.

I’ve never played a game like Destiny that so aggressively requires apathy of the core game systems to enjoy. I’m not sure if I like that enforced apathy, but it is what it is.

Best way to play the game is to just focus on content you enjoy, I think. Pick one thing and play it until you feel completed.

I totally understand all the complaints, Destiny 2 wants to be an MMO and it has all the confusing trappings of one and that kinda sucks.

They are adding the Fortnite Battle Pass to replace the ā€œlevel up get a bright engramā€ structure we have now. Also, when a season goes away, all the content goes away too, with rewards coming back ā€œeventuallyā€.

Luke Smith’s proposed vision of what Black Armory would’ve been like under this new system is a fucking nightmare.

i think they’re doing this because they’ve also realized the game can’t grow in size forever, right? it also sounds like there’s no back purchasing of content then?

also idk, the forges are still there but nobody really does them outside of bergusia

i guess we’ll see how it works out

i’m… cool with destiny and i’d spend an evening checking out the moon but i don’t think i want to play this game in the way it wants me to play it anymore, i get exhausted just thinking about it

My brother and I got to Fabled and now a) comp is fun because I’m not upset at every defeat and b) I guess I gotta finish Luna’s and Mountaintop this season.

Feels a little bad to let the MMXIX title go but idk if I can run Last Wish and Crown of Sorrow in the next week.

our strat for carrying clan mates through the luna grind very quickly + avoiding them running into bsk too much was to go on asian servers

how’s population now? vividly remember sitting in orbit waiting aaages for comp games just a few weeks into forsaken

It’s quite good and very interesting with folks coming from consoles - eg hunters jump a lot because they’re used to typically slower vertical target acquisition. It’s going to be strange when F2P hits.

jumping a lot is really good!!!

(or have they reduced in-air hc accuracy again since i played loll)

i hated the super strict sbmm in later d1 but that short spell of f2p in d2 last year was a boring mess unless you wanted to farm the ran out of medals emblem

Jumping is still really good. Going around corners to ambush a guy below you by jumping is 100% the best way to play against people, PC or console.

Only becomes an issue if you misjudge the distance and they can acquire you before you put them down

I’m gonna be participating in WF race with my clan for the new raid.

i hope you have fun somehow!

I got the Mountaintop and now I’ve only got two triumphs left for Unbroken!

I am gonna break Destiny before it breaks me.
